James Wilfong
VALE — James “JWT” Walter Wilfong, 74, of Plateau Road, died Dec. 30, 2001. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Plateau United Methodist Church
where he was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran and the owner and operator of J. W. Trucking until retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Ferrell of Hickory; four sons, Mickey Wilfong, and Dustin Wilfong, both of Vale, and David Wilfong and Terry Wilfong,
both of Newton; a sister, Mary Viola Wilfong of Lake Panasoffkee; a step-brother, Joe Shuford of Lincolnton; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Larry Jenkins
DENVER — Larry Stuart Jenkins, 54, formerly of Durham, died Dec. 30, 2001. A memorial service was held at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Clements Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial was at 11 a.m today in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Born in Durham, he worked for U.S. Airways until retirement and was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Brandon McKimmy of Rock Hill, S.C.; his mother, Annie Snipes Jenkins; a sister, Judy J. Harward of Normal, Ill.; and his fiancée, Mickie Carson of Denver.
Thomas Neill
BESSEMER CITY — Thomas “Babe” Neill, 59, of St. Mark’s Church Road, died Dec. 30, 2001. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Capps
Missionary Methodist Church in Cherryville where he attended. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at Carpenter’s Funeral Home.
He was born in Cleveland County.
Survivors include his father, Marcus Zone Neal of Cherryville; a sister, Ruby Eaker of Cherryville; five brothers, Giles Baxter Neill of Terrell, Buford
Neill, John Neill, Gerald “Chick” Neal, all of Cherryville, and Charles Neal of Bessemer City.

Robbie Lee White, 39, of 510 Linden Street, died Dec. 30, 2001. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial
will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
He was born in York County, S.C.
Survivors include three brothers, Eddie Franklin White of Gastonia, Roger Dale White of New York, and Johnny Wayne White of Georgia; and two sisters,
Deborah Ann Hyatt of Charlotte, and Tammie Sue Shorts of Lancaster, S.C.

VALE — Andrew “Andy” Hoyle, 52, of 144 R. L. Hoyle Road, died Dec. 26, 2001. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Stamey Funeral

Born in Cleveland County, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, employed by Griffin Motors in Lincolnton as an Inventory Controller and a member of
Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Viola James Faulkner; three sons, Ferman Faulkner of Alexis, Arnold Faulkner of Denver, and Eddie Faulkner of Lincolnton; a
daughter, Pearl Sigmon of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Otis Faulkner of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
