Man charged with shooting brother

Published November 3, 2003

Police looking for 19-year-old suspect

By Staff reports

————————————

A Lincolnton man allegedly shot his brother four times Friday night after the two had an argument.

Lincolnton Police are looking for Aaron “A.D.” Williams, 19, who they say shot his older brother, Randall Williams, Detective Rick Lynn said.

He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The shooting happened at 713 E. Sycamore St., Randall Williams’ girlfriend’s house, at about 9:30 p.m., Lynn said.

Dispatchers received a call about shots being fired in the area, and police responded.

The brothers were arguing Friday night when Aaron Williams allegedly pulled out a small caliber handgun and shot Randall Williams, 23, four times, twice in the back and twice in the buttocks, Lynn said.

Two friends took him to Lincoln Medical Center where he was treated and released about two hours later.

Lynn said alcohol was involved.

Aaron Williams has a criminal history, including two recent felony assault charges, Lynn said.

Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Aaron Williams should call the Lincolnton Police Department at 704-736-8900.
