The city of Denver is expected to be bustling with more activity than usual this weekend.
The added excitement will be over Denver Days, East Lincoln’s first fall festival.
“We really anticipate over 5000 people,” said Event Coordinator Pat Whitaker. “We have had such a tremendous response from local businesses and vendors.”
Whitaker said the festival has over 100 vendors and has the main attraction set in place.
“Elvis Presley” is also scheduled be at the festival to make a brief appearance.
Some of the other attractions include ice carving on Saturday afternoon, amusement rides, a moon bounce, a 25-foot slide, a train and an obstacle course.
There will also be a raffle at the event, offering prizes of a fishing pack, a cruise for two to the Bahamas, and a trip to Myrtle Beach.
Denver Days will be this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Denver Days festival will be held at the corner of St. James Church Road and N.C. 16.
A schedule of the events and times at Denver Days can be found on 2B.
