Waterside Crossing Professional Center, located at N.C. 16 and N.C. 73, is due to open Christmas day.

Two buildings will comprise the center, one 15,600 square foot building and another 14,326 square foot building. This second building will be the second class “A” professional building in the area.

Chris Carlsen, managing member with Carlsen Douglas Development in Huntersville, said N.C. 16 and N.C. 73 are the current hot spots in Lincoln County.

“We love this area; this is our backyard,” Carlsen said. “It is close to Charlotte, Huntersville and the lake, which is always in demand, even with the bad economy.”

Joe Douglas, Carlsen’s partner, said the Professional Center is expected to cater to medical professions, attorneys, insurance agencies and financial planners.

“Our plan is to fill up the building so that we can build a second building behind it,” Douglas said. “We are so excited to be here.”

Keith and Ann Flouhouse with Flouhouse Properties who have partnered with Carlsen Douglas on the professional center project are excited about the location.

“This is a great location with rapid growth. I think it will lease out quickly,” Keith Flouhouse said. “We have already had a lot of phone calls.”

Carlsen Douglas Development has many other projects in the lake area including two others in Lincoln County.

One of these projects is Lake Norman Village at Waterside Retail located on N.C. 16 which was completed in January. It is the home of Subway and other retail stores.

Located behind this building is another project for Lake Norman Village at Waterside office space. It will soon be the home to Sylvan Learning Center. The office space is scheduled to be complete on Thanksgiving.

There are two other projects the development has in Mecklenburg County, one at Lake Norman Village at Rosedale and the other at the Village at Oakhurst.
