Plans for Healthcare Pavilion move forward

Lincoln Medical Center

From staff reports

September 4, 2002 - DENVER — Two Denver area healthcare providers have committed to locate in the Lincoln Medical Healthcare Pavilion to be built north of the intersection of N.C. 73 and N.C. 16.

First Foundation Clinic of the Carolinas, which recently opened an office, and chiropractor Heather Melling with West Lake Chiropractic, will both relocate to Phase One of the pavilion.

In addition, LMC plans to relocate its Optima Therapies office to the pavilion and to offer an out-patient mammogram office at the pavilion, making mammograms more convenient for those in the Denver community who currently travel to the hospital for this service.

Groundbreaking on the seven-acre site is expected to take place by the end of the year. The pavilion will be built in three phases with opening of the first phase scheduled for next summer.

When completed, the pavilion will also be home to physicians in specialties of internal medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, and radiology.

The Healthcare Pavilion, developed by Norman Plantation Incorporated and Reinhardt & Beal Architects, will consist of three phases, each measuring 25,000-square-feet of physician office space.

The project is being built and funded by private investors.

While LMC will not own the pavilion, it will help doctors design their offices and will act as a liaison between developers and the healthcare community.

LMC has long wanted to be a presence in eastern Lincoln County. The medical center had planned to build a 20,000-square-foot facility on a tract at Waterside Crossing, a development located at the intersection of N.C. 16 and 73.

LMC officials say the new location is preferable as it fronts the main highway.
