Concert membership drive begins
From staff reports
March 10, 2003 - The annual membership campaign of the Lincoln County Concert Association will begin on March 9 and continue until the first week in
April.
The 2003-04 concert season will open on Aug. 17 with a concert by The Raleigh Ringers, a highly acclaimed handbell group. They treat their audiences to a
variety of musical styles — sacred, secular, classical and rock and roll.
Later in the season, Richard Glazier will perform “A Salute to the Hollywood Musical.” A spring concert by The New Century Saxophone Quartet will offer their
versatile repertory ranging from J.S. Bach to contemporary pieces.
The final concert will be presented by The Woods Tea Company on April 30, 2004. Employing a dozen instruments, these performers charm audiences with their wit
along with bluegrass, Celtic tunes, sea chanties and folk songs.
There will also be a public school concert by one of the season’s artists. A fifth public concert is planned with the artist and time to be announced.
Adult memberships are $35 for the season. Membership for students, 18 and under, is $10.
