Participants sought for Family Fair
From staff reports
January 6, 2003 - Participants for the second Family Fair are being sought to help raise community awareness and money for child abuse prevention.
Vendors, entertainers, dancers, singers, musicians, storytellers, puppeteers, sponsors and volunteers are needed to help make the event possible.
The Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension are sponsoring the fair, which is to be held on Saturday, Feb. 8
at the Citizen’s Center.
In addition to the family-oriented events, the day will include a silent auction. People are also being asked to donate items for the silent auction.
Proceeds from the auction will help fund coalition programs, such as parenting classes and APE, Awareness Prevention Education.
According to coalition director Kathy Vinzant, the fair is not just a fund-raiser, it is an occasion for Lincoln County residents to learn about their
community.
“This is an opportunity for the community to understand the services that are available to them,” Vinzant said.
The deadline to register for a booth at Family Fair is Friday, Jan. 17. If you would like more information, or to become a sponsor for this event, call Vinzant
at (704) 736-8456.
