STANLEY â€“ Ray Dockery of Mooresville Saturday collected the Late Model cash the second week in a row at East Lincoln Speedway.
When the green flag waved, Denverâ€™s Tim Sigmon jumped out front from the pole position only to be overtaken two laps later by Denverâ€™s Dan Yarbrough, who started on the outside front row. Yarbrough held the point two circuits, but Dockery challenged as the pair raced alongside each other for two laps. Dockery won the battle, beating 14 other competitors in the 20-lap affair. Dockeryâ€™s prize was $600.
Yarbrough and Sigmon were the Late Model heat race winners. Kent Petre was the class of the field in the Super Stock V-8 main event. Stock-4 honors went to Jessie Ingle. Brian Stang won the Rookie-4 feature. In Sprint Car action Brian Roseman was the winner.
The payout for the nightâ€™s program was $4,650. Racing will return to East Lincoln Speedway Saturday. The program will begin at 7 p.m. with 15 events for five divisions. by James Honeycut, Special to the LTN
