Vera Carpenter
Vera Inez Carpenter, 90, of the Brian Center, formerly of N. Aspen St., died June 28, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Daniels Lutheran Church, where she was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she was retired from Crown Converting.
Survivors include a number of cousins.
Memorials may be made to Daniels Lutheran Church Building Fund, 3290, Reepsville Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Bernice George
KNOXVILLE — Bernice McCurry George, 73, died June 26, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Memorial in Knoxville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
She was retired from Farragut Diner as a waitress and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Survivors include a son, Billy George; a brother, Boyd McCurry of Rutherford County and a number of nieces and nephews.
Highland Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Dorisann O’Halloran
CHERRYVILLE — Dorisann Becker O’Halloran, 75, of 107 Summers Place, died June 28, 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday in Queens, NY with burial in St. Charles Cemetery. Prayer services will be held at 7 tonight. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Carpenters Funeral Home in Cherryville.
Born in Valley Stream, Long Island, NY, she was a member of St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

M. Lineberger
SHERRILLS FORD — Marvin Benson Lineberger, 90, of Cardinal Healthcare and formerly of Sherrills Ford, died June 29, 2004. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Denver, where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 tonight at the church.
He was born in Catawba County.
Survivors include two sons, Edsel Lineberger and Jeff Lineberger both of Sherrills Ford; a daughter, Barbara Meares of Sherrills Ford; two brothers, Milton Lineberger and Vershal Lineberger both of Sherrills Ford; two sisters, Lynelle Williams of Newton and Euvenia Hoke of Davidson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, 4136 Mt. Pleasant Road, Denver, NC 28037.
Burke Mortuary in Maiden is in charge of arrangements.

CATAWBA — Hugh Wilson, 71, died June 30, 2004.
Arrangements are incomplete at Burke Mortuary in Maiden.

Jeanette Huss
SHELBY — Jeanette Huss, 92, of Poplar Springs Church Road, formerly of Lincolnton, died June 30, 2004.
Arrangements are incomplete at Warlick Funeral Home.
Charles
Ray Ledford
Charles Ray Ledford, age 54, of Long Creek, SC was born June 26, 1950 in Gastonia. NC. He is the son of Christine Ledford of Lincolnton, NC and the late Ray Ledford of Iron Station, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Ledford; daughter, Katrina Welch of Lincolnton; sisters, Diane Cornwell of Lincolnton and Shirley Parker of Cherryville; grandchildren, Bailey Welch, Caleb Welch and Timmy Welch of Lincolnton.
Mr. Ledford’s funeral was Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminister, SC.
