COATS — Kathleen Ennis Lee, 83, of 253 S. Ida St., died June 4, 2004. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Ennis Family Cemetery.
Born in Harnett County, she was a cosmetologist for Eckerd and Kerr Drum Companies and was a member of Coats United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Edna Gray of Lincolnton and Olene Ennis of Coats and a brother, Bill Ennis of Lillington.
M. G. Leonhardt
LITTLE RIVER, S.C.—Marshall George Leonhardt, 84, of 3765 Woodrige Circle, Little River, S.C., formerly of Lincolnton, died Friday, June 4,2004at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hollybrook Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Cranford officiating.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Mr. Leonhardt was retired textile worker from J.P. Stevens Co. Survivors include one son, Michael Leonhardt of Little River; his brother, Robert Leonhard of Jensen Beach, Fla; two grandsons, Chad Leonhardt of Ontario, Can; Kris Leonhardt of Little River, and three great grandchildren.

Henry Porter
Henry Lee Porter, 87, of 1238 Black Road, died Saturday, June 5, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Key and Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Born in Cleveland County, Mr. Porter was retired from Dora Mill, Cherryville, with 36 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was active in the Gastonia Farmers Market for 25 years.
He is survived by three daughters: Carolyn Rhyne of Dallas, Frances Kiser and Terri Childers, both of Cherryville; two sons, Don Porter of Cheerryville and Jerry Porter of Lincolnton; a brother, Charles Porter of Waco; two sisters, Madge Dellinger of Cherrryville and Louise Smith of Apex; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one step great great grandchild.

Barbara Edna Whitcomb, 65, of 1270 Jerico Lane, Lincolnton, died Friday, June 4, 2004.
Funeral Services will be private.
Born in Pittsburg, Pa., Ms. Whitcomb worked in the banking industry.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Gillman of Mt. Pleasant and Bill Gilman of Lincolnton; two daughters, Sherry Kittle of High Shoals and Chris Spearman of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Richard Wiskeman Jr. of Miami; three sisters, Gladys Jones of Boynton Beach, Fla; Violet Kerns of West Palm Beach; Lucille Goode of Spotslyvania, Va; six grandchildren, Jason Kittle, Jeremiah Kittle, Billy Gillman, Jada Gillman, Lena Deas and Conner Spearman.

Mary Knox Rash Payseur, 92, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Brian Center in Gastonia.
Services were held Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Lester Payseur officiating. Friends were received Friday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln County, she worked in the textile industry.
Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Ledwell of Lowell, NC; Renee Carpenter of Lincolnton and two grandchildren

Daniel Emmanuel Donohue, 54, 335 Colonial Village Drive, Lincolnton, died Sunday, June 6, 2004.

Bessie Houser
Bessie Geneva Gantt Houser, 93, of 7624 Highway 27 W, Vale, NC passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Kindred Hospital.
She was born on October 10, 1910 in Lincoln County to the late Gamel T. Gantt and Mary Tallent Gantt. She was a retired teacher and homemaker. Mrs. Houser was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where she served as the former chairman of the cemetery committee, as a trustee, Sunday School class teacher, member of the United Methodist Women, and a Communion Steward.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Wanda Lee Yarboro; four brothers: Sam, Fred, G.T. and Jake Gantt; two sisters: Odie Lingerfelt and Hattie Plyer.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy “Jim†and Gail Houser of Charlottesville, VA; six grandchildren: Jeffrey Houser of Syracuse, NY, Melyssa Houser of Charlottesville, VA, Justin Houser of Charlottesville, VA, Michael Yarboro Of Rutherfordton, Meggon Lee Yarboro of Washington, and Krista Loveau of Stuart, FL; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia Tiffany-Byers. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Friday night, June 4, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
