Patricia Pugh
NEWTON — Patricia Cecelia McIntosh Pugh, 48, of Laffon Road, died May 30, 2004. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
She was born in Johnson City, Tenn.
Survivors include two daughters, Candace Greer and Carmen Greer both of Newton; two grandchildren, Eric Hedrick and Darien Greer; her mother, Thelma F. Wilson of Newton; three sisters, Vivian Byington of Hickory, Chris Jones of Newton and Judy Bevel of Conover and four brothers, Wayne Johnson of Johnson City, Tenn., David Johnson of Conover, Dean McIntosh of Hickory and Joe McIntosh of Newton.

Evelyn Smith
Evelyn Reeves Smith, 77, of 2775 Philadelphia Church Road, died May 29, 2004. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she was employed as a spinner in the textiles industry and was later self employed as a home health provider.
Survivors include many members from the Reep, Stroupe, Sigmon and Clarke families.

Ruby Choate
WILKESBORO — Ruby Arlene Richardson Choate, 90, of Winston Street, died May 30, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Eastern Star Rites. Burial followed in Mountlawn Memorial Park.
Born in Alleghany County, she was a representative for Avon and was a member of Hinshaw Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David Choate of Lincolnton; three granddaughters, Jennifer Suttle, Martha Dedmon and Leslie Boltin; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Maude Andrews of Panama City, Fla. and a brother, Arzie Richardson of Independence, Va.

Carol Lewis
ALEXIS — Carol Norkett Lewis, 57, of 2196 Mt. Zion Church Road, died May 31, 2004. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.
She was born in Mecklenburg County.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy Lewis of the home; a son, Todd Lewis of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Kathy McMahan of Huntersville and Brandi Ballard of Stanley; her step-father, Walter Mosteller of Denver; four grandchildren, Shane McMahan, Kyle McMahan, Carleigh Ballard and Cody Ballard; two brothers, Steve Norkett of Kings Mountain and Jimmy Norkett of Alexis and a sister, Jeanie Crawford of Stanley.

Mary Lipscomb
FOREST CITY — Mary Elizabeth London Lipscomb, 82, of Mae’s Rest Home, died May 30, 2004. Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Waddell Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Friday at the church.
Enloe Mortuary in Shelby is in charge of arrangements.

Lorri Hartley
Lorri Ann Dye Hartley, 30, of 626 Ross Road, died May 29, 2004. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at McLean Funeral Directors in Gastonia.
Born in Gaston County, she was formerly employed by Wix Filters Allen Plant.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hartley of Lincolnton; a daughter, Alyssa Hartley of Lincolnton; her father, Wesley Dye Sr. of Lincolnton; her mother, Lynn Dye of Lincolnton and a brother, Wesley Dye Jr. of Lincolnton.

Hazel Allran
Hazel Rucker Allran, 83, of Lincolnton, died June 1, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Born in Lincolnton, she was a retired C.N.A. from Lincoln Nursing Center.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Allran of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Scott Allran and Todd Allran and four great-grandchildren.
