Police are investigating a second armed robbery in less than a month outside the Little Caesar’s Pizza on East Main Street in Lincolnton.
Details of the latest incident, which occurred around 10 a.m. Saturday, proved similar to a hold-up in early July outside the same city eatery, Det. Jason Munday told the Times-News on Tuesday.
A masked man approached an employee in the store parking lot, using a weapon to threaten the victim before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident, and detectives are not identifying the type of weapon used in the robbery.
Only July 2, a masked gunman threatened a different store employee during day time hours in the same parking lot on East Main Street.
The cases are “very similar”, Munday said, “with the same time of day and MO.”
Anyone with information in either incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909 or the Lincolnton Police Department at (704) 736-8900.
Tips may remain anonymous and any tips leading to an arrest may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
