WACO — Louise Cash Scism, 86, of Penn Place, died May 13, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Waco Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial followed in Capnernaum Cemetery.
Born in Hall County, Ga., she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Della Murray of Waco; a son, Jack Scism of Waco; four grandchildren, Anne White, Alan Murray, Josh Scism and Angie Blackwood and six great-grandchildren.

Oscar Greene
LAWNDALE — Oscar Greene, 88, of 117 Wortman Road, died May 13, 2004. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in North Brook Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Cleveland County, he was retired from Hickory Springs and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ola Mae Towery Greene; a son, Carroll Greene of Hickory; four daughters, Brenda Hudson of Casar, Evelyn Wallace of Hickory, Diane Hudson of Lawndale and Reba Martin of Conover; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Mildred Lander
Mildred McKee Lander, 78, of 133 Hollybrook Avenue, died May 12, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Providence Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow in Pine Street Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Born in Iredell County, she was retired from General Shoelace.
Survivors include two sons, James McKee and Maurice McKee both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Janice Austin of Winston Salem and Delores Lindsey of Washington, DC and three grandchildren.

Brite Morrison
VALE — Brite Craig Morrison, 90, of 397 Cooper Road, died May 13, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hulls Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in New Life Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and a member of Elliott Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Flay Morrison Jr. and Ernest Morrison both of Lincolnton; a daughter, Emmie Abernathy of Vale; a brother, Willard Craig of Shelby; two sisters, Zula Owens of Shelby and Ruby Price of Belwood; 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Hugh Elmore
CROUSE — Hugh Ervin Elmore, 91, of 2654 Hwy. 150 west, died May 16, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a dairy farmer.
Survivors include a brother, Earl Elmore of Lincolnton and a sister, Vida Sue Elmore of Crouse.

Essie Hush
Essie Mae Coates Hush, 86, of 833 E. Pine St., died May 13, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Born in Putnam County, she was retired from Comfort Chair and attended Indian Creek and Pine Grove Primitive Baptist churches.
Survivors include two brothers, George Coates of Lawndale and Nathaniel Coates of Charlotte and a sister, Addie Lawrence of Charlotte.

MAIDEN — Margaret Lail Setzer, 84, of Buffalo Shoals Road, died May 14, 2004. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. today at the church.
She was born in Catawba County.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcell Hewitt of Maiden and LeeElla London of Hickory; three brothers, Richard Lail of Milford, Ohio, Ervin Lail and Harrel Lail both of Cleves, Ohio; a sister, Aileen Kenney of Bradenton, Fla.; three granddaughters, Pam Saunder, Ginger Biggerstaff and Emily London and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Moses of the home; three sons, Robert Walters, Billy Walters and James Moses Jr. all of Lincolnton; three daughters, Carolyn Camidge of Morganton, Cathy Saunders and Tina Jenkins both of Lincolnton; his mother, Mary Justice of Morganton; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Effingham, SC, he was a member of Cornerstone Church and worked for Merita Bakery.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy King Turner; two sons, Larry Turner of Denver and Lawton Turner of Parkersburg, W. VA.; a daughter, Willie Blanche Daughtery; two sisters, Glennie Lawson of Columbia, SC and Luise Dixon of Florence, SC; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.

Frank Yoder
Frank H. Yoder, 83, of 2403 Reepsville Road, died May 15, 2004. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Daniel’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the parish house of the church.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a retired from Union Elementary School as a teacher and was a WWII U.S. Army Air Force veteran and was a member of Daniel’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sirley Zuechner Yoder of the home; a son, Donald Yoder of Charlotte; a daughter, Barbara Yoder of the home and two sisters, Helen Cress of Concord and Ruby Lindhorst of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born in Lincoln County, he was founder and owner of Appleridge Greenhouse.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle D. Sain of the home; a son, Rev. Robert Sain of Vale; two daughters, Reba Mahaffey of Sumter, SC and Pat Hopkins of West Jefferson; 10 brothers, Ralph Sain of Cherryville, Melvin Sain of Lincolnton, Jimmy Sain of Hickory, Harold Sain, Hugh Sain, Horace Sain, Colon Sain, Kenneth Sain, Warren Sain and Bob Sain all of Vale; three sisters, Dorothy Leatherman of Hickory, Gladys Hull and Joann Wise both of Vale and seven grandchildren.
