Poetry Lincolnton will host guest musician poet Keith Flynn at 7 p.m. today at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Founder and managing editor of The Asheville Poetry Review, Flynn has published numerous books in the U.S. and abroad and is currently lead singer of The Crystal Zoo. Admission is free.

An organizational meeting for a new worshiping community, forming around the liturgy of the 1973 translation of the Roman Missal, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Glen Oaks Golf Club, 245 Golf Course Rd. in Maiden. The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation is accepting soccer registrations for the 2012 Youth Spring Soccer League now through Feb. 20. Registration is 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 28 and Feb. 18 at the William Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park, 800 Madison St. in Lincolnton.
