Clinton Floyd
Clinton Lee Wayne Floyd, 40, of Lincolnton, died March 8, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at McEwen Funeral Home, Derita Chapel in Charlotte. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Born in Charlotte, he was a coordinator with Iron Mountain.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Luther Floyd and three children, Cee J. Floyd, Ryan Floyd and Erika Floyd all of Lincolnton.

W. Richardson
MAIDEN — Willliam Leonard Richardson, 55, of 2278 Withers Road #1, died March 10, 2004. Michels-Lundguist Funeral Home in Newport Richey, Fla. will be in charge of the services. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include one son, William Richardson Jr. of Newport Richey, Fla.; one daughter, Tracy Richardson of Maiden; his mother, Regina M. Richadson of Holiday, Fla.; three brothers, Edward Richardson of Clayton, NJ, Mark Richardson and Michael Richardson both of Holiday, Fla.; one sister, Regina Richardson of Wenonah, NJ and one grandchild.
Burke Mortuary in Maiden is in charge of local arrangements.

Kay Goodson
MONROE — Kay M. Goodson, 67, died March 9, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Central United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. today in Central Hall at the church.
Born in Catawba County, she was an office assistant with Union County Community Health Services.
Survivors include four sons, Tony Goodson of Cary, Rev. Barry Goodson of Mechanicsville, Md., Gary Goodson of Greensboro and Cord Goodson of Greenville; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Ray Moose of Denver, Jack Moose Jr. of Maiden and John Moose of Gastonia; two sisters, Nancy Cadieu of Newton and Betty Houser of Dallas.

Lillian Brown
RUTHERFORDTON — Lillian Sarah Brackett Brown, 81, of Willow Ridge Tryon Road, formerly of Cherryville, died March 10. 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenters Funeral Home. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Gaston County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Miles Shull Jr. of Cherryville and Joseph Long of Lincolnton; three daughters, Doris Kruk of Gatlinburg, Libby Arrowood of Ellenboro and Judy Anthony of Belwood; six grandchildren, Nicole Shipler, Christina Bailey, Celena Arrowood, Jaclyn Anthony, Brittney Anthony, Sherry Anthony, Jason Long and Valerie Long and four great-grandchildren.

James Howell
SHELBY — James Anthony Howell, 39, of 508 E. Graham St., died March 9, 2004.
Arrangements are incomplete at Enloe Mortuary in Shelby.

Dorothy Roberson
CHERRYVILLE — Dorothy Mae Roberson, died March 9, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Funeral Home in Durham.
She was a retired nurse and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Williams; one brother, Willie Roberson Jr.; three grandchildren, David Davis, Raynor Williams and Caleb Williams.
Memorials may be made to her daughter, Connie Williams, 6637 Charleston Trial, Cherryville, NC 28021, to help with funeral expenses.

Nell Houser
CHERRYVILLE — Nellie Ava “Nell” Houser, 95, formerly of South Styers St., died March 10, 2004. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Born in Gaston County, she was retired from Burlington Industries.
Survivors include two sons, James Brown and Sherman Brown both of Cherryville; one daughter, Louise Eaker of Cherryville; one sister, Lorene Pruitt of Cherryville and four grandchildren, Barry Eaker, Jimmy Brown, Jeff Brown and Johnny Brown and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Christian Outreach Center of the First Baptist Church, 301 E. First St., Cherryville, NC 28021.

Bob Willis
James Robert Willis “Bob”, of Saddletree Road, died March 11, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in WWII, was the owner of Piedmont Casket Company and an organizer and charter member of Lincoln Life Saving and First Aid Crew. He was Emergency Management Coordinator for Lincoln County for 30 years. He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and a former member of the Lincolnton Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lander Willis; one daughter, Ann Keever; one son, James Willis Jr.; two grandchildren, Michelle Hefner and James Willis III and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ in Lincolnton or Holy Angels, 6600 Wilkinson Blvd., Belmont, NC.

Melvin McDowell
SHELBY — Melvin Lee McDowell, 72, of 410 Clegg St., died March 9, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westside Praise and Worship Center. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Mae Mason
SHELBY — Mae Helen Borders Mason, 69, of 111 Vick Wilson Road, died March 10, 2004. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Maple Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Lucile Herman
Lucile Morris Herman, 88, died March 12, 2004. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hollybrook Cemtery.
She was a retired nurse and was Lincoln County’s first Woman of the Year.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Herman and Steve Herman of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Scott Herman, Mandy Coffey and Allison Thompson and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church Building Fund.
