FUNRDRAISER SUPPER
Landers Chapel United Methodist Church, Long Shoals Road, will have a country style steak and gravy supper with mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits, dessert and drinks from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Saturday. Adults are $5 and children 12 and under $3. Fundraiser for the Historic Landers Chapel School House.
BARBECUE DINNER
Lawings Chapel Baptist Church, E. Maiden Road, will have a barbecue dinner from 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship center. All plates are $6, dine in or carry out. All proceeds go to the building fund of the church.
HERB FESTIVAL AND ARBORETUM TOUR
A tour of the Herb Festival and Arboretum in Asheville is scheduled for Saturday, May 1. A bus has been scheduled for the tour. Cost is $12 per person. To register come by the Cooperative Extension office or mail checks (made payable to LCFCE) to 115 West Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092, no later than April 26. COOKING WITH HERBS WORKSHOP
The Cooperative Extension is offering a free workshop entitled “Cooking with Herbs†on Monday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the demonstration kitchen at the Citizens Center located at 115 West Main St. Call the Cooperative Extension at 704-736-8461 to register.
HOT DOG SALE
BB&T Bank, E. Main St., will have a hot dog sale from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday. Proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life team.
BROOM SALE
The Lincolnton Lions Club will sell brooms Saturday in front of First Methodist Church during the Spring Fling Market Place: $3 for hearth brooms, $6 for household brooms and $7 industrial/patio brooms. Also being sold will be Camp Dogwood raffle tickets giving away new vehicles and selling patriot badges for $1 to benefit scholarships.
MOTHER OF THE YEAR PROGRAM
Lincoln County Branch of the NAACP will have its annual “Mother Of The Year†program, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn School. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.
PORTRAIT FUNDRAISER
Lincoln Charter School, West campus, is holding a portrait fundraiser to help the school match a Technology Grant of $5,000. For your donation of $20 you will receive a Free 8×10 color portrait. Lincoln Charter School West campus, Hwy. 27 west, will have a Book Fair community event from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday.
GILBERT REUNION
