Lincoln County Special Olympics Program will be sponsoring a basketball series that will be held on Jan. 15 at Pumpkin Center Middle School, North Lincoln High School and East Lincoln High School. All games will begin at 10:30 a.m. A pep rally to start off will be held at North Lincoln High School at 10:15. The public is invited to come out and support the athletes.
McKendree United Methodist Church, 3637 Maiden Hwy., will host a luncheon Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meals will include chicken pie and baked ham, vegetables, salads, desserts and homemade biscuits. The Cockman Family of Sherills Ford will be in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church. A meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted to benefit Rodney Curles, a Lincoln County man battling tremendous medical problems.
