Flower Power — Business is a beautiful arrangement

Ever since she was a little girl, Ronda Lenex has been decorating.
She used to decorate at Christmas and loved how it would transform the whole house.
Using everything from silks to fabric to wallpaper, Lenex creates floral arrangements, a talent she has been using for 20 years.
She used to work at Carolina Furniture Mart making floral arrangements for eight years. Recently, she has gone out on her own.
Floral Designs, located on Riverside Drive, has pre-made arrangements for any occasion. They can also be ordered in advance to suit one’s taste.
Feathers are very popular in arrangements right now, Lenex said.
Other options include a floral look, botanical look and nature look.
The arrangements can be done almost any way even going as far as including a keepsake item.
“When friends or loved ones pass away, having a keepsake item in an arrangement is very nice,” she said.
In her new location, wreaths adorn the walls, pre-made Christmas trees with floral arrangements fill the floors for the holiday season and centerpieces stand on display.
Having never taken a class, Lenex has the natural talent and touch.
“The secret is the good Lord. He gave me my talent,” Lenex said.
Much of Lenex’s work is displayed around Lincolnton, including many arrangements in local banks and businesses.
“People recognize my style,” she said.
“It feels good to see a piece of my work displayed somewhere,” she added.
She also enjoys making people happy.
“It makes me feel good to inspire people,” Lenex said.
Floral arrangements can be made for any occasion, including weddings, funerals and holidays.
The hours of the store are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
