Willie Mae Carter
NORTH MIAMI, FLA. –
Willie Mae Carter, 63, of 14155 West Dixie Highway, died Nov. 26, 2004. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
A native of Lincoln County, she was a member of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and a salesperson at Eckerd and Marshall’s.
Survivors include husband Frank R. Carter Sr.; one son, Ronald Donaldson of James Town, N.Y.; three daughters, Claudinette West of Slatington, Pa., Cassandra Donaldson of Camden, N.J. and Alfie Forney of Pompano Beach, Fla.; step-mother, Mary Starr of Charlotte; seven step-daughters, Karen Jones, Linda Douglas and Ann Douglas, all of New York, Debra Moss, Priscilla Carter, Barbara Carter and Linda Carter, all of Baltimore, Md.; four step-sons, Dennis Carter, Earl Carter and Floyd Carter, all of Baltimore, Md. and Frank Carter Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Jessie Byers
KINGS MOUNTAIN – Jessie Roland Byers, 67, of 125 Thompson Drive, died Nov. 29, 2004. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
A native of Gaffney, S.C., he was retired from Plonk Tires.
Survivors include wife Margaret Frances Sawyer Byers; three daughters, Frances Griggs of Kings Mountain, Betty Brooks of Lincolnton and Crystal Parks of Kings Mountain; four brothers, D.C. Byers of Gastonia, Oliver Byers of Bessemer City, Tommy Lee Byers of Bessemer City and James Byers of Cherryville; one sister, Carrie Crank of Waco; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ava Williams
Ava Hullett Williams, 85, of 2375 West Highway 27, died Nov. 30, 2004. Funeral services are 3 p.m. Thursday at Gainsville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.
A native of Lincoln County, she was retires from Cochrane Furniture Company.
Survivors include two sons, Wade Williams and Rayford Williams, both of Lincolnton; two daughters, Penny Cantrell of Vale and Doris Wilson of Iron Station; one brother, Bobby Hullett of Maiden; four sisters, Nora Swink of Cherryville, Julia Sisk of Lincolnton, Thelma Beam of Lincolnton and Edna Long of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Robert Lewis
IRON STATION – Robert James Anthony Lewis, 64, died Nov. 28, 2004. Funeral services are private.
A native of Bronx, N.Y., he served as a gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and worked as a warehouse manager. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include wife Carol Ann Lewis; three sons, Robert William Lewis of Denver, Richard James Lewis of Iron Station and James Anthony Lewis of Huntersville; two sisters, Diane Bass and Helen Paris, both of Providence, R.I.; one brother, Gary Lewis of Exiter, Pa. and five grandchildren.
Joe Leonard
Joe Alexander Leonard, 87, died Nov. 28, 2004. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Daniels Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Lincoln County, He was a retired propane salesman and a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII, where he was a German P.O.W.
Survivors include wife Ruth W. Leonard; two sons, David Leonard of Charlotte and Tim Leonard of Lincolnton; two sisters, Madeline Hoyle and Nell Stroud, both of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Sarah Leonard, Matthew Leonard and Katie Leonard Crawford and three great-grandchildren.

John Froneberger
John Daniel Froneberger, 61, of 702 S. Aspen St., died Dec. 1, 2004. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Warlick Funeral Home.
Jessie Lee Flowers
Mr. Jessie Lee Flowers, age 17 of 1157 Birkdale Lane in Lincolnton, NC died Thursday, November 25, Thanksgiving Day 2004.
His funeral was held 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at Living Word Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Michael Ainsworth officiating. Burial followed in Gloryland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Flowers was born on November 26, Thanksgiving Day 1986 in Burke County. The son of William Wesley Flowers, Jr., and Margaret Marie Walter Beal. He was a student and attended Asbury School.
