Gerald Atwell
CROUSE – Gerald Robert Atwell, 62, of 1931 Kollege Lane, died Sept. 27, 2004. No funeral services are planned at this time.
A native of North Adams, Mass., he was a machinist and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Survivors include wife Joyce G. Atwell; two sons, Roger C. Atwell of Lincolnton and Lenny Atwell of Cambridge, N.Y.; one daughter, Lenore Murrane of Greenwich, N.Y.; five brothers, Earle Atwell and Steve Atwell, both of Belchertown, Mass., Bruce Atwell of Salisbury, Rick Atwell of Greenville, Mass. and Melvin Atwell of Amherst, Mass.; three sisters, Barbara Atwell of Glenn Falls, N.Y., Candy Czupkiewicz of Belchertown, Mass. and Donna Clark of Palmer, Mass. and six grandchildren.

Gerald Garver
MARIETTA, GA. – Gerald Richard Garver, 67, died Sept. 24, 2004. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. today in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. Burial followed in the funeral home cemetery.
A native of Lincolnton, he was a Lutheran and worked as a machinist.
Survivors include wife Frances Garver; one daughter, Sandra Thompson of Austin, Texas; one son, Alex Garver of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, James Clyde Garver of Lincolnton and three grandchildren, Jason Thompson, Jennifer Thompson and Jessica Thompson.
A. Chapman Jr.
Austin “June†Chapman Jr., 75, of 2082 Tin Mine Road, died Sept. 27, 2004. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
A native of Lincoln County, he was retired from the City of Lincolnton in cemetery maintenance and was a former textile employee.
Survivors include wife Shasta Seagle Chapman; one son, Todd Chapman of Lincolnton; two daughters, Tracy Canipe and Jessie Carpenter of Linoclnton,; one sister, Vivalee Seagle of Sherrills Ford,; one brother, Howard Chapman of Arkansas; three half sisters, Mille Ann, Sybil and Janice; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Moss
DENVER – Kenneth Earl Moss, 33, of 8101 Optimist Club Road, died Sept. 26, 2004. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden, where he was a member.
He played drums in the church choir.
Survivors include mother Hope Kelly and step-father Sam Kelly of Denver and one brother, Mark Oates.

Edgar Durant Skinner, Jr.
Mr. Edgar Durant Skinner, Jr., age 75 of 112 Labans Lane in Lincolnton, NC died Monday, September 27, 2004.
His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC at approximately 4:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Skinner was born on March 27, 1929 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Edgar and Lillian Heilig Skinner, Sr. After graduating from high school in Rocky Mount, he served in the U.S. Army for 3 years. He graduated from N.C. State University with a degree in chemical engineering and worked for Celanese in Rock Hill, SC for 9 years. Furthering his education, he graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina. He then moved to Lincolnton, NC in 1966, working as a manager/pharmacist for Cornwell Drug Store for over 25 years.
Survivors include: wife, Tyna F. Skinner of the home; two daughters, Ann Skinner of Cary, NC, Stacy S. Fitch of Graham, NC; two brothers, Harold Skinner of Hickory, NC, Clarence Skinner of Wilson, NC; twin sister, Ellen Skinner Rogers of Smithfield, NC.
