Juanita Massey
CHERRYVILLE — Juanita Baker Massey, 94, of 111 Harrilson Rd., died Oct. 19, 2004. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Street Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, in the church cemetery. The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 tonight at Ebony and White’s Funeral Service.
A native of Lincoln County, she was a retired teacher for the Lincoln County School System.
Survivors include one sister, Aljuana B. Edwards of Cherryville.
Ebony & White’s Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Belton
Mary Ann Finger Belton, 64, of 915 E. Pine Street, died Oct. 17, 2004. Funeral services were Thursday at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hollybrook Cemetery.
A native of Lincoln County, she was a retired textile worker. She was a member of Boyd Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Alfred A. Finger of Lincolnton and one sister, Linda Finger of Lincolnton.
Ebony & White’s Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Walter Dawson
SHELBY – Walter Sylvestor Dawson, 38, of 203 Shannonhouse St., died Sunday Oct. 17, 2004. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Dawson was a native of Cleveland County.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church on Friday. The family will be at the home of his grandmother, Maebell Lott,, at 333 Oates Drive in Shelby.
Enloe Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Leischa Beard
MAIDEN – Leischa Lynn Christie Beard, 34, of 4111 H.E. Propst Road, died Oct. 21, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Beard was a native of Mecklenburg County. She worked for Comscope.
Survivors include friend and former husband Tim Beard of Maiden; her mother, Phyllis Heafner Christie of Newton and one brother, Thomas Alton Christie of Claremont.

Susie Mae Nixon
BESSEMER CITY –
Susie Mae Bowden Nixon, 79, of 701 W. Alabama Avenue, died Oct. 19, 2004. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Kelly’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
She was a native of Eatonton, Ga.
Survivors include five daughters, Annie N. Robinson of Charlotte, Carolyn N. Jarrett of Kings Mountain, Edith N. Hargrove and Barbara Silvo Falls, both of Gastonia and Shelia Nixon of Bessemer City; four sons, Robert Nixon of Lincolnton, William Nixon of Maiden, Teddy Nixon of Woodbridge, Va. and Michael Nixon of Bessemer City; three sisters, Dorothy B. Farley of Maiden and Virginia B. Cline and Petronia Bowden, both of Lincolnton; two brothers, Herman Bowden of Dayton, Oh. and Bobby Bowden of Lincolnton; 38 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
