Linda Walker
WACO — Linda Lou Johnson Walker, 59, of 405 Main St., died Oct. 13, 2004. Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Waco Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Capernaum Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Johnny Walker; one son, Tommy Ramsey of Blacksburg; one daughter, Teresa Davis of Crossville, Tenn.; two step daughters, Crystal Craft and Sandy Bollick, both of Waco; four brothers, Ronald Johnson of Conover, and Billy Johnson, John Johnson and Michael Johnson, all of Lincolnton; five sisters, Carolyn Howard, Eulalia Crump, Reba Goodson and Rachel Ballenger, all of Lincolnton, and Sue Cardarelli of Myrtle Beach; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 E. Morehead St., Suite 211, Charlotte, NC, 28202.
Carpenter’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles King
CHARLOTTE — Charles Elwin King, 74, died Oct. 13, 2004. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Myers Park United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Jubilee Hall at the church.
Born in Greensboro, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a maintenance superintendent retired from Myers Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Scott King of Moorhead City, Douglas King of Mooresville and Darrell King of Baldwin, Ga.; one daughter, Darla Stines of Dallas, N.C.; one brother, Merle King of Charlotte; one sister, Argyle Clarke of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two grandchildren, Dallas and Kari King.
Memorials may be sent to Myers Park United Methodist Church, 1501 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC, 28207.
Hankins and Whittington — Dilworth Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Luena Lail
Luena Waldrop “Chic” Lail, 85, died Oct. 14, 2004. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.
She was a native of Lincoln County.
Survivors include one son, Audie Lail of Lincolnton; two daughters, Penny Lail Newsome of Mooresville and Donna Mooneyhan of Lincolnton; two sisters, Chloe Taylor of Asheboro and Kathleen Bumgardner of Charlotte and six grandchildren, Misty Lail Warren, Corey Jones, Kindal Newsome, Kayla Newsome, Lauren Mooneyham and Stephen Mooneyham.
