Clarence Reitzel
CATAWBA — Clarence LaFayette Reitzel Jr., 67, of Kiser Court, died March 26, 2004. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Iredell County.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Reitzel of the home; two daughters, Kathy Reitzel of Micro and Karen Hubbard of Catawba; two sons, Tommy Reitzel of Taylorsville and Tracy Reitzel of Catawba; one brother, Tommy Reitzel of Gilead and eight grandchildren.

Thomas Greene
VALE — George Thomas Greene, 60, of 7091 Jake Seagle Road, died March 25, 2004. A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Born in Cleveland County, he was employed by Precedent, a Division of Sherrill Furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Upton Greene of the home; his parents, Oscar and Ola Mae Towery Greene of Lawndale; one brother, Carroll Greene of Hickory and four sisters, Brenda Hudson of Casar, Evelyn Wallace of Hickory, Diane Hudson of Lawndale and Reba Martin of Conover.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

Tommy Jones
Thomas Elvin “Tommy” Jones, 79, of 113 South Pine Avenue, died March 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenters Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was a retired supervisor from Carlton Yarn Mill, was employed by Carpenters Funeral Home, a member of Free Saints Chapel and a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Spearman Jones of the home; two sons, Tommy Jones Jr. of Cherryville and Danny Jones of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; four daughters, Pat Mitchko of Jacksonville, Fla., Peggy Jenkins of Lincolnton, Susan Riddle and Teresa Shehan both of Cherryville; one brother, Harmon Jones Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Betty McFadden of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, Eric Jenkins, Neill Jones, Charity Chapman, Jennifer Johnston, Sonya Boras, Tommy Mitchko, Michelle Perry and Anna Shehan and nine great-grandchildren.

Lisa Witherspoon
MAIDEN — Rose Ileasa “Lisa” Newell Witherspoon, 42, of East Murray St., died March 27, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden. The family will receive friends following the service.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, JD and Peggy Newell of Maiden; her mother, Lavada Hall of Clearwater, Fla., a daughter, Brandy Derr of Stanley; three brothers, one sister, three half-sisters and one half-brother.

Eugene Rogers
NEWTON — Eugene Wesley Rogers, 76, of 1595 Smyre Farm Road, died March 27, 2004. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
Born in Iredell County, he was a purchasing agent.
Survivors include his wife, Sue McCombs Rogers of the home; one son, Eugene Rogers Jr. of Icard; three daughters, Adeladie Schefter of Blowing Rock, Gloria Walker of Norfolk, Va. and Susan Yorke of Conover; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Catawba Valley.

Fred Hurt
Fred Robert Hurt, 88, of 307 N. High St., died March 27, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at EF Drum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Burke County, he was retired from Carolina Mills and attended First Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include two sons, Reginald Hurt of Lincolnton and Don Hurt of Cherryville; one brother, MF Hurt Jr. of Lincolnton; two sisters, Helen Farmer and Yvonne Hurt both of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Jessie Dellinger
DENVER — Jessie Lee Dellinger, 96, of 7981 Optimist Club Road, died March 26, 2004. A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
Born in Lincoln County, she was retired from Carolina Mills and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Maiden.
Survivors include a brother, Henry Cline of Mooresville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County or Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Lelia Bondurant
Lelia Shelton Bondurant, 81, of 1814 Country Club Road, died March 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, in Lincolnton. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Sain and Sharon Bondurant both of Lincolnton and two granddaughters, Allison Canipe and Nicole Sain.

Mabel Hostetter
SHERRILLS FORD — Mabel Eugenia Hostetter, 83, of Sherrills Ford, died March 28, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the memorial service in the CLC.
Born in Catawba County, she was an Army nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Hostetter of Livingston, Texas and Daniel Hostetter of Maple Valley, Wash.; two grandsons, Andrew Hostetter and Jeffrey Hostetter; one brother, Horace Robinson of Landis and one sister, Sue Christenbury of Sherrills Ford.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Catawba Valley.

DENVER — Jane Kossatz Lilieholm, 78, of 183 Valley Brook Road, died March 28, 2004.

Thomas Wehunt
CHERRYVILLE — Thomas Harrison Wehunt, 90, of 1719 Wehunt Store Road, died March 26, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at North Brook Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was the co-owner of JC Wehunt and Son Store and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Kiser of Lincolnton and Cathy Eaton of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; one sister, Vevette Arthur of Cherryville and five grandchildren, Maribeth Kier, Laura Kiser, Anna Kiser, Will Eaton and Catherine Eaton.

Karl Harrill
DENVER — Karl Henry Harrill, of Denver, died March 27, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a retired truck driver .
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Carpenter Harrill; one daughter, Brenda Hendricks of Charlotte; two sons, Michael Harrill of Maiden and Gary Harrill of Stanley; five grandchildren, Katherine, Lori, Allison, Mary and Sam and three great-grandchildren.
