A native of Lincoln County, he was a self-employed pier builder.
Survivors include his wife Frances Carpenter Perkins; one son, Bobby J. Perkins of Denver; one daughter, Patsy A. Perkins of Maiden; two brothers, Harold Perkins of Mooresville and Billy Perkins of Mount Holly; one grandson, Craig Perkins of Denver; one granddaughter, Leighann Campbell of Lincolnton and two great-grandchildren.

GRANITE FALLS â€“ Rev. Jessie Stewart Estep, 44, of 5688 Reid Rd. died Sept. 1, 2004. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at High Shoals Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will follow in the High Shoals Memorial Gardens.
Born in Iaejer, W. Wa., he was pastor of Dudley Shoals Church of God, worked as a truck driver for Shulls Trucking and served in the U.S. Army.
