Knights v. Mustangs — Meeting at the line

East, North Lincoln to hold
tailgate bash before game

To help kickoff the football season, North Lincoln High School will have a tailgate party Friday, Sept. 10.
The event will be held before the game between the North Lincoln Knights and neighboring team the East Lincoln Mustangs.
“We have a lot of school spirit. We are very proud of our school,” said Dan Devine, president of the Parent Teacher Association. “The PTA wanted to do something special.”
The night will begin at 4 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. in the North Lincoln High School parking lot.
The meal will be catered by Fatz Cafe, with meal tickets costing $8. Take-out food is also available.
There will be North Lincoln club booths and plenty of entertainment.
The North Lincoln dance team, the Pumpkin Center Middle School chorus, the North Lincoln High School band and local dance studios will perform. Face painting and bake sales will also be offered.
WLON radio station will be on the scene.
NLHS T-shirts will be sold at $8 for short-sleeve and $10 for long-sleeve.
The T-shirts will be on sale now, at the event and at the football game.
The PTA is hoping to make this an annual event.
“This is a big deal. It is the biggest event down here,” Devine said. “There is no reason not to come. It is a fun evening with a great meal.”
Tickets will be on sale through Sept. 3. They can be purchased from PTA members, students and the North Lincoln school office.
All money raised from the event will go towards purchasing more books for the library.
For more information, call the school at 704-736-1969.
Sponsors include Fatz Cafe, People’s Bank, Turbyfill Hardware and A-2-Z Promotional Products.
