Lawrence Suttles
Lawrence Douglas Suttles, 72, of 440 Miners Road, died Aug. 27, 2004. Graveside services were held on Sunday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Marion N.C., he worked in the maintenance department of Catawba Sox in Newton.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Suttles; one son, Lawrence Douglas Suttles Jr.; two daughters, Jacqueline Barron of Denver and Cynthia Fullerton of Lincolnton; four brothers, Fred Suttles of Hendersonville, Ed Suttles of Rutherfordton, Walt Suttles of Mayo, S.C. and Lloyd Suttles of Rock Hill, S.C.; one sister, Betty Orr of Hendersonville; three granddaughters, two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

J.S. Grimstead
MAIDEN — Janevarate Sigmon Grimstead, 71, of Blytheville, Ark., died Aug. 27, 2004. Private graveside services will be held at the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newton.
She was born in Catawba County
Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden is in charge of arrangements.

Jack Reynolds Jr.
Jack Floyd Reynolds Jr., 49, of 1085 Betterbrook Lane, died Aug. 27, 2004. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born in Baltimore, Md., he worked as a residential painter.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony Reynolds of Florida and Keith Reynolds of Lincolnton; two daughters, Jacquelyn Reynolds of Hickory and Merissea Stapleton of Florida; mother, Hester Halcomb Patterson of Lincolnton; and one sister, Sheila R. Harris of Lincolnton.

Charlie Pace Jr.
Charlie Vernon Pace Jr., 84, of 1015 Little Valley Lane, died Aug. 26, 2004. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Foursquare Gospel Church where he was a member. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Laurens, S.C., he was a retired dairy farmer with Cline Dairy Farm and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Charles M. Pace of Crouse and Danny Pace of Lincolnton; six daughters, Pat Randall of Vale, Irene Lowery of Morganton, Brenda Tucker of Newberry, S.C., Hattie Helms of Lincolnton, Ena Crouse of Iron Station and Mary Flowers of Bessemer City; a sister, Ena Kellett of Laurens, S.C.; 31 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Catawba County.
E.F. Drum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nancy D. Fowler
GASTONIA — Nancy Doris Mattox Fowler, 69, of 501 Downey Place, died Aug. 27, 2004. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at All Saints Episcopal Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
Born in Spartanburg, S.C., she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca F. Creedmore of New Paris, Pa. and Debbie F. Kinker of Lincolnton; one son, Carl Franklin Fowler of Kings Mountain; one sister, Nell Burnett of Spartanburg, S.C.; one brother, Elbert E. Mattox Jr. of Mobile, Al.; six grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Buford E. Isley
CHERRYVILLE — Buford Eugene Isley, 86, of 6681 Colony Lane, died Aug, 27, 2004. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Kerr Memorial Baptist Church in Concord. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
Born in Cabarrus County, he worked as head loom fixer at Cannon Mills.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Isley of China Grove and Roy Clyde Isley of Harrisburg; two daughters, Jean Love of Harrisburg and Susan Bean of Cherryville; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Shirley Long
Shirley Dean Long, 69, of the Heath House in Lincolnton, died Aug. 29, 2004. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln County, she worked for Salem Industries.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Long Whitesides and Madgieleene Long Keener, both of Lincolnton.

Mary M. Jones
VALE — Mary McCoy Jones, 86, of 603 Red Dawn Road, died Aug. 29, 2003.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.
Born in Pike County, Ky., she worked in the textile industry.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Mason of Alexander, Va. and Freda Baxter of Vale; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
