Nancy Carol Reep

Nancy Carol Reep, age 70, of Hoffman Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

Her funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Long Shoals Wesleyan Church with Michael Jordan officiating. Burial followed in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Reep was born October 9, 1946, in Lincoln County, to the late Clarence H. Reep, Sr. and Lucy Hoffman Reep. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Reep Reece.

She is survived by a brother, Clarence Reep, Jr., and wife Pauline, of Lincolnton; and a sister, Alene R. Blair, and husband Gary, of Newton; brother-in-law, Norris Reece of Lincolnton; and her adored dog, Dusty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

Frances Mauney Sanford

Mrs. Frances Mauney Sanford, age 77, of Springfield Drive in Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017.

Mrs. Sanford was born January 25, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Thomas Seyborn and Irene Yount Mauney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Sanford and one sister, Bobbie Mauney. Mrs. Sanford retired from Lincoln County Hospital where she worked in respiratory therapy.

Services for Mrs. Sanford will be held privately.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Sanford Duncan and husband Kim of Lincolnton, Kristie Sanford of the home; two sisters, Sybil Mauney Black and husband Rodney of Crouse and Libby Beal of Sherrills Ford; two grandchildren, Cassie Frances Duncan, Kelsey Nicole Duncan; a very special niece, Denise Carpenter of Gastonia.

Phyllis Hoover Ritchie

IRON STATION — Mrs. Phyllis Hoover Ritchie, age 81, of Iron Station, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 22, 2017.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Alexis Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Sandy Marks officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Alexis Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ritchie was born June 10, 1936, in Gaston County, to the late Loy and Fannie Long Hoover.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Glenn Ritchie, an infant daughter, Patty Ritchie; one sister, Mildred Smith and husband Joe; two brothers, Donald Hoover and Darrell Hoover and wife June.  Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda R. Mauney, and husband Paul, of Iron Station; one grandson, Christopher Mauney, and wife Hilary, of Holly Springs; and two great-grandchildren, Linden Mauney and Lane Mauney; brother-in-laws, Neal Ritchie and wife Pat and Ray Ritchie and wife Robin all of Iron Station.

Memorials may be made to the South Fork Baptist Association, for the handicapped ramp fund, 2261 Laboratory Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Alonzo Branch

Alonzo Branch, age 93, of Hillside Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, September 25, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Branch was born April 16, 1924, in Rutherford County, to the late Walter S. and Osie Ledbetter Branch. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Reba Gibson Branch, and two brothers, Claude Branch and Dewitt Branch.  He served in the United States Army during World War II, and then retired from National Fruit where he worked in maintenance.

He is survived by a son, Michael Branch, and wife Renee, of Lincolnton; a daughter, Teresa Randall, and husband Randy, of Cherryville; one sister, Helen Price of Bessemer City; two grandchildren, Amy Wright, and husband Steve, and Jason Randall; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, for Robin Johnson Hospice House, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.

Judy Isenhour Rivera, 69, of Taylorsville passed away September 20, 2017.

A memorial service was held September 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Taylorsville Church of God in Taylorsville. The family received friends following the service.
