Local team competes in karate tournament

Team DMTKD recently competed in the Steve Dirton 2nd annual East Coast KSDS Karate Tournament at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Center in Greenville, S.C.

Jesse Roper took first place in the boys 10-11 year old Brown/Red Belt fighting division and first place in the Traditional Kata division.

Jordan Boles finished first in the boys 8-9 year old White/Orange Belt fighting division, with Bobby Boles IV taking third place and Jacob Greene coming in fourth in the division.

In the girls 10-11 year old White/Orange Belt fighting division, Isabella West took first place and Ike Sain finished first in the boys 5 year old White/Green Belt fighting division.

Owyn West came in first place in boys 12-13 year old White/Orange Belt fighting division and also took first place in the Traditional Kata division.

Camille Sain took first place in the 35 and over White/Green Belt Traditional Kata division, with Stephanie Greene coming in second place.  Greene also finished first in the 35 and over White/Orange Belt women’s fighting division.

Team DMTKD is from Donald McCluney’s School of Tae Kwon Do.
