Ruline Bradshaw Lewis

STANLEY — Ruline Bradshaw Lewis, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017. She was born in Lincoln County, daughter of the late John Frank and Mattie Helena Garner Bradshaw.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Frank L. Lewis; three daughters, Judy Childers (Paul) of Mount Holly, Joyce Elmore of Lincolnton, and Donna Freeman (Dan) of Lancaster, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Paula Snyder, Tabitha Clemmer (Tommy), Todd Elmore, Anna Greer (Tyler), and Chris Childers (Melody); and four great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lewis will be held at noon today, July 10, 2017 at Craig Memorial Baptist Church, 1251 Mariposa Rd., Stanley, NC 28164, with Pastor Randy Starkey officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon at the church.

Dorothy Neil Robinson Schronce

IRON STATION — Dorothy Neil Robinson Schronce, age 84, of Iron Station died Saturday, July, 8, 2017.

Her funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Killian and Rev. David Wyant officiating. Burial will follow in the Iron Station Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

Dot was born on February 16, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Roscoe A. Robinson and Estelle Keever Robinson. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Dot was a homemaker for her husband and children. She was active in her church and community.

She is survived by her husband, C. Gordon Schronce of the home; one son, Arty Schronce of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Jodie Graham and husband, Chris of Mt. Holly and Tori Schronce O’Neill of Franklin; one brother, Johnny Robinson of Stanley; three sisters, Jean Devine of Iron Station, Kathryn Eurey of Lincolnton and Fredda Robinson of Denver; one granddaughter, Kate Graham Heil and husband, Luke of Lexington, Ky.

John Emmit Hines, Sr.

John Emmit Hines, Sr., age 73, of Lincolnton, went home to his Lord on Friday evening, July 7, 2017 at his home. He had spent the last week surrounded by those he loved.

His funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Marvin United Methodist Church with Rev. Amy Vaughan officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home.

John served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Da Nang and served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier.  He worked as a truck driver and shipping, receiving, and scheduling supervisor at Sonoco Products, Inc. in Long Shoals, where he retired after 31 years.  He also retired after serving as a volunteer member and officer of Lincoln Rescue Squad for twenty years. After retiring from Sonoco, he drove a truck for Piedmont Transportation, Inc. of Vale, until he became ill.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James H. (Bill) Hines and Ruth A. Hines, a younger  brother, Gene Hines, mother-in-law, Edith W. Sain, son-in-law, Gary Lee (Spud) Beam, and his very special brother-in- law, Larry Ray Sain, who lived with the family until his death in 2015.  He was also preceded by other beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in law.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 52 years, Wanda Sain Hines, of the home; one son, John E. Hines, Jr., of the home; one daughter, Andrae H. Beam, of Vale; one brother, Frank Hines of Lincolnton; three sisters, Pat Ballard (Clayton), Susie Martin (Gary), and Lucy Houser, all of Lincolnton;  five grandchildren:  Jessica Hines, Austin Hines, Caleb Hines, Brittany Beam, and Justin Beam and grandchild of the heart, Addison White.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and their families, all of whom he loved dearly.  His dog, Allie, and his granddog, Si, who was his constant companion in his final months, will miss their buddy greatly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

The family appreciates the love and support shown to them by their neighbors, friends, and church community during the years of John’s illness.  They also appreciate the wonderful care received from the staff of Family Medical Associates of Lincoln County, Hospice of Lincoln County, and Warlick Funeral Home.

Harry Luther Lloyd

Harry Luther Lloyd, age 73, of Brady Branch Trail in Lincolnton died Friday, July 7, 2017.

His funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Church of Our Saviour, Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Lloyd was born September 26, 1943 in Lincoln County. He was preceded in death by his parents Alton Atlee Lloyd and Lona Lackey Lloyd. He was a United States veteran serving in the US Air Force. Mr. Lloyd was retired from Vermont American Tool Manufacturing.

Survivors include: son, Harry Lloyd of Lincolnton; daughter, Kim Britton of Palm Bay, Fla.; three grandchildren, Misty, Matthew, and Harley; two step-grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Florita “Rita” Jolly Macijewski, 78, of Conover passed away July 5, 2017.

A private graveside service was held.

Albert Boyd Homesley, 82, of Cherryville passed away July 7, 2017.

A memorial service was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church with military honors. Burial was private. The family received friends Sunday at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., prior to the service.

Judy Stafford Ferguson, 63, of Conover passed away July 6, 2017.

A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends today from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service in Conover.

Mary Sue Carlyon Faires, 85, of Cherryville passed away July 7, 2017.

A memorial service will be held July 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. A receiving of friends and a reception will immediately follow the service in the fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
