SD-7 releases all-conference soccer

West Lincoln’s Leia Simmons was named the Southern District-7 girl’s soccer defensive player of the year.

The Southern District-7 has released the girl’s all-conference soccer team for the 2017 season.  West Lincoln’s Leia Simmons was named defensive player of the year, in addition to making the all-conference the squad.

East Lincoln place four team members on the All-SD7 team, including Taylor Barrineau, Danielle Colannino, Sierra Gilley and Kali Krehnbrink, while Lincolnton also put four players on the squad, Faith Brunner, Nathalia Cannon, Kinsey Harrison and Karol Sanchez.

The conference’s offensive player of the year was Elena Propst of Maiden, and the coach of the year was Maiden’s Patrick Clark.

The complete list of all-conference performers is listed below.

East Lincoln: Taylor Barrineau, Danielle Colannino, Sierra Gilley, Kali Krehnbrink.

Lincolnton: Faith Brunner, Nathalia Cannon, Kinsey Harrison, Karol Sanchez.

West Lincoln: Leia Simmons.

Maiden: Danielle Donovan, Elena Propst, Lydia Rice.

Bandys: Katie Cornette.

Bunker Hill: Kristian Schlichting, Vashti Vang.

Newton-Conover: Madelyn Becker, Anna Grace Hinshaw, Zoe Nester, Samantha Reyes-Gomez,       Jessica Tenjhay.

West Caldwell: Madelyn Smith, Jordan Winters.

Coach of the Year: Patrick Clark-Maiden

Offensive Player of the Year: Elena Propst-Maiden

Defensive Player of the Year: Leia Simmons–West Lincoln
