Rev. Thomas Junior Teems

STANLEY — Rev. Thomas Junior Teems, age 73, of Black Snake Road in Stanley, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. Kendall Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.

Rev. Teems was born December 27, 1943, in Brasstown, to the late Rosco and Annie Mae Bingham Teems. He was a Baptist minister, having latest served Roseland Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Blanch Chastain Teems of the home; two sons, Glenn Teems of Hayesville and Terry Teems of Gastonia; a daughter, Janice Teems Monroe of Iron Station; a brother, Roger Teems of Stanley; a sister, Geraldine Mullis of Denver; four grandchildren; and six and a half great-grandchildren.

Robert Randall Peaslee

Robert Randall Peaslee, age 56, of 1244 River Hill Trail in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duval Mason officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Robert was born August 17, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, to Rebecca Jackson Peaslee and the late Robert Dean Callon. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shawn Denise O’Neill Peaslee.  He worked as a parts distributor for BSR for many years, and most recently Activus and GKN Driveline.

He is survived by two daughters, Ashley Peaslee, and fiance Michael Cable, of Lincolnton and Heather Wilson, and husband Joe, of California; a son, Jeremy Peaslee, and wife Alicia, of California; stepmother, Patricia Callon of Greensboro; stepbrother, Dean Callon of Greensboro; stepsister, Amber Callon of Greensboro; four brothers, Dan Peaslee, Sam Peaslee, Ed Peaslee, and Sean Peaslee, all of Reno, NV; and three grandchildren.

He was a lover of his family, cars, music, and gun collecting. We lost an amazing man all too suddenly. We will forever love and miss him. He has been a rock over the last few months and he will be greatly missed.  His friends and family will forever hold him in their hearts.

Benny Louis Rogers, Sr.

Mr. Benny Louis Rogers, Sr., age 73, of Iron Station died Saturday, May 6, 2017.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Collette officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with DAV rites. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Rogers was born on October 7, 1943 and was the son of the late John Bill Rogers and Clara Dell Mason Rogers. He retired after 30 years with IBM as a new product developer. After retirement, he worked as a self- employed general contractor. Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Lola of the home; one daughter, Shelia Lewis of Mississippi; one son, Benny Rogers, Jr. of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Wilcox, Evan Rogers, Hailey Rogers, Riley Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Zachary Lewis and Raven Lewis; one brother, Larry Rogers of Kentucky; two sisters, Lucille Depew and husband, Melvin of Kentucky and Eva Rose Watts and husband, Marion of Kentucky.

Nettie Yvonnie Coulter Wingate

Nettie Yvonnie Coulter Wingate, 71, of Newton died May 6, 2017.

A funeral service will be held May 13, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 12:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton prior to the service.

Ricky Paul Black, 59, of Cherryville died May 7, 2017.

Visitation will be held today from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church in Cherryville. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery.

Richard David Drum, 83, of Conover died May 8, 2017.

A funeral service will be held May 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends from noon until 12:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Maiden prior to the service.

Jeff Reed Parker, 86, of Maiden died May 8, 2017.

A service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held May 12, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Maiden. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends May 11, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church.

Shelly Lynn Woodruff Bass, 43, of Charlotte died May 5, 2017.
