Carolyn Marie Vrchota Kluttz
Carolyn Marie Vrchota Kluttz, 47, of Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017.
She was born on December 6, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Eugene Vrchota and Cathy Nichols Helms.
Carolyn enjoyed the outdoors riding with her husband on their motorcycle in the mountains, taking pictures, camping, swimming and shopping, for she loved her jewelry. Christmas time was her favorite holiday, as she loved cooking for the entire family. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Kluttz; children, Misty Melton (Adam), Phillip Vrchota, Angela Hamby (Chris), David Melton (Brittany), Larry Melton, Jr. (Megan), Timothy Melton (Crystal); step-daughter, Ashley Dugger; step-son, Darren Dugger; grandchildren, Chasity, Lillian, Mariah, Lorralyigh, Issac, Austin M., Austin C., Lucas, Trinity, Daniel, Derek, Justin, Ayden, Autumn, Cole, Elizabeth, Sophia, Stephen and Brandon.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017, at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Allen officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley Polhill Rudisill Connor
Shirley Polhill Rudisill Connor, age 76, of River Meadows Court in Lincolnton, died on Monday, April 3, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Tommy Wright and Rev. Clint Darst officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at the home of Debbie and Tim Pope.
Mrs. Connor was born September 30, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Joseph Augustus Polhill, Sr., and Martha Lambeth Polhill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Augustus Polhill, Jr. and John Hamilton “Jackie” Polhill. She retired as a United States Postal Service rural carrier.
Shirley spent many years volunteering her time and serving others in many capacities. She spent many hours as a grade parent for her four children while in school. She spent many years with Girl Scouts with her daughters as a leader and assistant. She also spent several years as band booster for the Lincolnton High School Band.
In her later years, she enjoyed doing mission work, through her church, with Hephzibah Children’s Home and work on a church building in Jamaica and South Mountain Retreat Center. She was always willing to open her heart and home to those in need. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Allen F. Connor of the home; her children, Joel Rudisill of Denver, Jan R. Bartlett, and husband Tommy, of Waxhaw, Debbie R. Pope, and husband Tim, and Eddie “Rudy” Rudisill, and wife Chrissie, all of Lincolnton; stepchildren, Phillip Connor and Michelle Connor Huster, both of Lincolnton; and beloved grandmother of, Leah Michelle Bartlett, Matthew Dean Bartlett, and wife Rebecca, Daniel Wesley Pope, Faith Lynne Huster, Isaac Charles Huster, and Chaley Lynette Connor; and her special four-legged fur baby Lulu.

William Richard Barger, III
GREENFIELD, IND. — William Richard Barger, III, 36, of Greenfield, Indiana, formerly of Lincolnton, went home unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
Richard was born October 26, 1980, in Gastonia, a son of Pamela Knight.
Richard was employed at USA Insulation working as an installer. He was a very talented person who loved to joke and make everyone laugh. Richard was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Pamela (husband Jack) Knight of Carthage, Ind.; two children, Shane Hill of Gastonia and Harley Barger of Shelby; two brothers, Ernest Knight and Bobby Knight, both of Carthage, Ind.; grandmother, Earleen Rink of Lincolnton; and many extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Bobby Wayne Blanton, Sr.
Mr. Bobby Wayne Blanton, Sr., age 75, of Heavner Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 5, 2017, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Blanton was born August 12, 1941, in Cleveland County, to the late C.R. and Alice Greene Blanton. He owned and operated Blanton’s Convenience Store.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Blanton of the home; one son, Bobby Blanton, Jr. of Lincolnton; one daughter, Charity Blanton of Lincolnton; a granddaughter, Cody Mull, and husband Eli, of Vale; and a great-grandson, Lucas Mull.

Clyde Lee ‘Buster’ Knight, Jr.
Mr. Clyde Lee “Buster” Knight, Jr., age 92, of N. Flint Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
His funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery with DAV military rites. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Knight was born April 19, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Clyde L. Knight, Sr. and Edith Stamey Knight. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Kate Ewing Knight; and three sisters, Hazel Knight, Sybil Coffey, and Lurlene Shinn. He was a member of the Lincolnton High School football team, proud World War II veteran having served in the South Pacific, and retired from Duke Power.
He is survived by sons, Lee Knight, and wife Kathy, and Zane Knight, and wife Donna, all of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Katie Knight, Elizabeth Carpenter, Sarah Ross, John Daugherty, Beth Medlin, and Amber Miller; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
