Denver Nuggets Basketball to host tournament

Denver Nuggets Basketball, Inc. will be hosting a tournament on Friday, March 24 through Sunday, March 26 at East Lincoln High School.  All AAU, YBOA, NTBA, USBA, USSSA, AYBA, and Independent teams are invited.  Cost is $150 per team. Multi-team discounts are available. Recreation dept. to hold adult dodgeball meeting

The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Department will hold an interest meeting for an adult open and organized Dodgeball league on Tuesday, March 28 at the Lentz Recreation Center at the Betty G. Ross Park.  Interested teams should have a representative at this league meeting.  Team representatives will meet at 6:30pm.  For additional information, please contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.

 

Denver Nuggets boys AAU to hold tryouts

The Denver Nuggets travel boy’s basketball teams will be holding tryouts for the 7th through 11th grade teams.

The tryouts will be held on Tuesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at  East Lincoln High School (6471 Hwy 73 Denver, NC 28037).

All basketball players in Lincoln and surrounding counties who are interested are encouraged to attend.  Parent Permission forms are required to tryout and can be found at http://www.eteamz.com/denvernuggets1/handouts/.

Recreation Dept. announces Spring Baseball Camp

The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Department and the Lincolnton High School athletic department are now taking registration for a Spring Baseball Camp for boys grades 2 through 8.  The camp will be held Monday and Tuesday, April 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Lincolnton High School baseball field located on Jeb Seagle Drive.  Cost for the camp is $25.  Camp director is Coach Cole Sigmon.  Registration for the camp is being taken at the Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.  For more information, please contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.

 

Denver Lacrosse to host benefit game

The Denver Spartans Lacrosse Club will host a benefit game on Friday, March 31 at East Lincoln High School.  The Spartans will host Providence High School at 6 p.m. with all of the gate money, along with donations, going to Noah Hays to help with medical bills.  Hays is a Providence High lacrosse player who is battling cancer.  Each year the Spartans try to help out a struggling player with a benefit game.  Last season, the proceeds of the benefit game went to help John Michael Knight, a lacrosse player in Florida that was stricken with a spinal stroke and suffers from “Locked In” syndrome.

 

 

Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Lincolnton High School

The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Lincolnton High School athletic department is sponsoring a Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run competition presented by the Scotts Company to be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9 a.m.  The competition will be held at the Lincolnton High School baseball field located on Jeb Seagle Drive.  The competition is free and is open to boys and girls ages 7 through 14.  Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate to be eligible to participate.  No metal spikes will be allowed at the competition.  For more information, please contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.
