Raymond “Randy” Denver Gray

Mr. Raymond “Randy Denver Gray, age 56, of Green Acres Road in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

His funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Luke Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

Randy was born October 6, 1960, in Charleston, W.Va. to the late Herbert Junior and Carol Vaughn Estep Gray.  He was a self employed system analyst.  Randy was a member of Masonic Lodge 369 in Gastonia and a member of Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hunt Gray of the home; one son, Tymothy Gray of Supply; two daughters, Alysa Gray of Denver and Kymberly Gray of Lincolnton.

Lutie Bell Drum Williams

MAIDEN — Lutie Bell Drum Williams, age 97, of Maiden, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at her residence. Born August 31, 1919, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Wilson and Bertha Drum. Lutie was a very special saint, deeply loved by her family and many in the community. She was an excellent cook, gardener and seamstress. Throughout her Christian walk, she was a loyal and dedicated member of Living Word Church.

In addition to her parents, husband Loy Efard Williams; son, Zelotes Williams; six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory: son, Coy Williams and wife Bobbie of Maiden; daughter-in-law, Suzette Wilkinson Williams of Maiden; two grandsons, Coy Lynn Williams and wife Sandy of Maiden, Andrew Williams and wife Lessie of Maiden; two granddaughters, Karen Triplett and husband Neal of Durham, Lauren DeBerry and husband Zack of Denver; ten great grandchildren, Adam Williams and wife Lacy, Chelsey Morgan and husband Mark, Coleman  and Harrison Williams, Ella Rose, Paxton Holmes, Annabelle & Ezekiel DeBerry, Luke and Noah Triplett; three great-greatchildren, Abel, Asher and Adah Williams; two sister-in-law’s, Louise Drum and Mildred Drum.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Living Word Church, Maiden with Pastor Rick Haug and Pastor Adam Williams officiating. Burial followed at Maiden City Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the church.

Walter Ray ‘Corky’ Hart

Walter Ray “Corky” Hart, 67, of Hickory died March 15, 2017.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. March 19, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hickory. Burial followed at the Hart Family Cemetery with military rites. The family received friends from 1p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to services at the church.

Marcene Dellinger Hester

Marcene Dellinger Hester, 81, of Cherryville died March 17, 2017.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. March 19, 2017 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. March 20, 2017 at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Diane Wright Heavner

Diane Wright Heavner, 73 of Shelby died March 18, 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Putnam Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Bonnie Kay Brown Hefner, 54, of Catawba died March 17, 2017.

A funeral service will be held 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Statesville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Burke Mortuary & Crematory in Newton.

Lawanda Gale Weaver Moore

Lawanda Gale Weaver Moore, 68, of Iron Station died March 18, 2017.

Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. March 21, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
