Mustangs dominate Fighting Falcons

DENVER –– It was business as usual against the Q Foundation for East Lincoln.
Chazz Surratt threw for 219 yards and five touchdowns to four different receivers, and the Mustangs scored all of their points in the first half to rout the Fighting Falcons 34-18.
Surratt completed 26 of his 43 attempts and threw two interceptions. Sage Surratt had 10 catches for 105 yards and two TDs, Austin Buchanan caught a TD pass, Chris Tomberlin caught a TD pass and Cameron Dollar caught a TD pass as East Lincoln started its season 2-0 for the third straight year.
Last season’s first two wins were later forfeited for its use of an ineligible player.
Kamani Watts returned the opening kickoff of the second half 95 yards for a score to put the Charlotte-based Q Foundation (0-1) on the board. It scored all three of its TDs in the third quarter.
Sammie Cunningham led East Lincoln in rushing with 18 yards on four carries. As a team the Mustangs rushed only 13 times for 31 yards.
The win was the third straight over the Fighting Falcons for East Lincoln, which has outscored Q Foundation 142-32 in the series. Its 18 points scored Friday were the most the Mustangs have allowed in the series.
