LOCAL ROUNDUP — Wolves top Hunter Huss, stay unbeaten in boys soccer

Jeffrey Perez scored two goals, including the match winner in the final minute, as Lincolnton held off visiting Hunter Huss 3-1 Wednesday to stay unbeaten in boys soccer.
Perez scored for a 1-0 Wolves lead in the first half. Seth Jones tied it with a goal for the Huskies 15 minutes into the second half, but Anthony Abonza finished a breakaway in the 65th minute and Perez put in a rebound with one minute left for the win.
Lincolnton (3-0-1), which travels to Cherryville on Monday, is one of two unbeaten teams left in the county. West Lincoln, which defeated North Lincoln 2-1 on Wednesday, is 4-0-1.

LINCOLN CHARTER 3, MAIDEN 2: At Maiden, the Eagles picked up a non-conference win with a late goal.
Steven Aguilar scored with four minutes left in the match on an assist from Zach Allen. Noah Brock and Roberto Copos added a goal with Aguilar assisting Brock’s goal. Keeper Isaiah Smith had four saves in goal for the Eagles.
Lincoln Charter (2-2-1) travels to Queen’s Grant today.
COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF DAVIDSON 5, EAST LINCOLN 1: At East Lincoln, the Mustangs suffered their first loss of the season after yielding four second-half goals.
Michael Hernandez scored the Mustangs’ lone goal.
East Lincoln (3-1) hosted Hunter Huss on Thursday, which wasn’t reported. It travels to North Lincoln on Monday.

LINCOLN CHARTER 3, THOMAS JEFFERSON ACADEMY 1: At Lincoln Charter, the Eagles stayed undefeated in the Southern Piedmont 1A Conference win on Thursday. Set scores were 18-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.
Meghan Smith had seven kills, Bentley Earnest, Gabby Powers and Tessa Carr had five kills each, Powers had seven aces, Earnest had eight blocks, and Haley Hubeli had 39 digs.
Lincoln Charter (3-0, 2-0) travels to Pine Lake Prep on Tuesday.
EAST LINCOLN 3, WEST LINCOLN 0: At East Lincoln, the Mustangs picked up a SD-7 win over the Rebels. No other details were reported.
East Lincoln (2-2, 2-1) hosts Highland Tech on Wednesday. West Lincoln (1-5, 1-2) hosts Bunker Hill next Thursday.
BUNKER HILL 3, LINCOLNTON 0: At Bunker Hill, the Wolves fell in the SD-7 match. No other details were reported.

Singles winners for the Rebels were Olivia Godfrey, Skylar Greer, Lily Rollins, Brittany Heavner, Mailee Weaver and Keltsey Walker. Doubles winners were Greer-Heavner and Weaver-Walker.
West Lincoln hosts Highland Tech on Wednesday.
