UPDATED: Missing Lincolnton teen found safe

UPDATED (Aug. 27): The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Tyler Lee McNeil was located safe and unharmed in Burke County on Tuesday.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 15-year-old who, it is believed, may be in the Burke County area.
Tyler Lee McNeil, 14, of Hilltop Road in Lincolnton, was last seen at his residence on Aug. 22 around 11 p.m. When he left home, he was wearing orange and gray tennis shoes, camouflage pants and a light blue t-shirt. He is 5-foot-3 and weighs around 170 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.
McNeil recently moved to the Lincolnton area and is believed to possibly be in or around Morganton, Granite Falls, Lenoir or Sawmills.
