UPDATE: The Sheriff’s Office has identified the drowning victim as Richard Terry Locklin, 53, of 4699 Dick Wilson Road in Denver.
A 53-year-old man has drowned in Lake Norman, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
The man’s body was found in the lake, near Dick Wilson Road in Denver, just before 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Deputies said the man was last seen on Wednesday at a Denver residence. He was located 45 feet from the shore in 6 feet of water in a cove.
The man, who has not been named, was the second person to drown in Lake Norman in the last three weeks.
A 36-year-old Lincolnton woman drowned in the lake on July 29.
