GED Testing Class
Gaston College is offering a free class to apply for a scholarship to pay for GED testing. Class runs from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, August 14 in room 118 on the first floor. Bring a valid DL, ID and SS card. For more dates, please call (704) 748-5226.

Revival
A cross-denominational revival will be held beginning at 7 p.m. at the John L. “Buck” Fraley Field located at 401 E. First Street in Cherryville and will run nightly until August 14. Youth events begin nightly at 6:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the revival will continue in the Starnes Auditorium. For more information, please call (704) 450-5100

Senior Safety Program
Lt. Cody of the Lincolnton Sheriff’s Office will present a program on scams directed at the elderly at Bethpage Lutheran Church in the Family Life Center beginning at 6 p.m. Program is open to all ages. For more information, please call (704) 735-8405.

History Project Meeting
The Crouse Community History and Photo Project with have a meeting beginning at 4 p.m. with special guest speaker Steve Baily. All are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact (704) 736-1440.

Senior Citizens Meeting
The Iron Station Community Senior Citizens will meet at Ironton Presbyterian at 12 p.m. There will be a covered dish lunch with guest speaker “The Flag Man”. All are welcome. For more information, please call (704) 735-3242.

Boogie with Books
The Partnership for Children of Lincoln and Gaston Counties will host Boogie with Books in the Park from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Betty G. Ross Park in Lincolnton. Admission is free and every child will receive a free book while supplies last. Storytellers, activities and an emcee will be on hand. Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch.
