Sigmon to travel to U.S. Open

Black Belt Champion Donnie Sigmon gave a standout performance at the Battle of Atlanta, one of the country’s largest tournaments open to all martial arts. He placed 1st in Chinese weapons and 2nd in Chinese Empty Hand, and in the evening competed in the Grand Championships. Sigmon will travel to Orlando, Florida with his fellow black belt classmate, Kristina Huntsberger, for the U.S. Open. They have the opportunity, if they place first in their divisions, to be on stage for the Night of Champions, which is televised on ESPN 2 & 3. There are also a few under belts competing, such as Brittany Carson, who is defending her first place title in all three divisions in the Advanced Women’s divisions, and 8-year old Cassidy Williams, who will be competing for her second year in 8 & under beginner division. The U.S. Open is the NASKA/ISKA World Championship, which is held at the Coronado Springs Resort in Disney World. The event will also be televised on ESPN 2 & 3 starting, July 12 at 6 p.m.
