Braille Literacy Program
The Lincolnton Lions Club and the Lincoln County Chapter of the National Federation for the Blind will be co-sponsoring the second annual Braille Enrichment Literacy Learning Program from 8:30am to 3pm at Boger City Methodist Church at 2320 East Main Street. The program will run until July 11 with a break on July 4.
Independence Day Celebrations
The City of Cherryville will host an Independence Day celebration at Downtown Mini Park with guest DJ John Barkley. There will be food vendors and a beer garden. The Embers featuring Craig Woodard will perform from 6pm to 10pm. Fireworks begin at 10pm. Time and date subject to change due to weather.
Maiden will host is the ninth annual July 4 Edith Pirkle Parade. Floats and parade entrants will assemble at the Maiden Library at 10am. Parade begins at 10:30am with Grand Marshall Truitt Beard, Maiden’s oldest (former) mayor. Patriotic music, costume contest begin at 11:15. Food vendors will be available at the end of the parade. Participants can walk or ride. Scooters, golf carts, 4-wheelers, horses, vintage cars, wagons, jeeps, strollers, convertibles and motorcycles are all welcome.
Crouse will hold its annual July 4 parade, beginning at 4pm. Line-up for all participants begins at the Crouse United Methodist Church located on Pleasant Grove Church Road at 3pm. Annual Yard Sale
Ethelene’s Annual Yard Sale will take place from 6:30am to 4pm on Friday and Saturday from 6:30am to 1pm at 2600 Keever Dairy Farm Road in Lincolnton. There will be a hot dog sale in addition to yard sale items and proceeds will go to help missions. Subject to reschedule due to weather.
