Cline Family Reunion
Descendants of Johann Sebastian Kelin (Cline) and his wife Maria Elizabeth Bieber (Beaver) will gather in Catawba County on June 27 – 29. The weekend will begin with a Friday evening dessert social at a Cline descendants homes in Hickory, to be followed by 2 days of activities including a full day at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover on Saturday. The Lincoln Theatre Guild presents “Footloose”, directed by Anna Lisa Johannessen at the Lincoln Cultural Center at 7 p.m. The show will run again Saturday June 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday June 29 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $11 for adults, and $8 for students and Seniors. Run the Rail 5K
Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County will host the 5th annual Run the Rail 5k at Betty Ross Park in Lincolnton. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m and closes at 8:30 a.m. The race will begin at 9 a.m. and take place entirely on the Rail Trail. A memorial walk will start at 9:05. Participants may register online at www.runtherail.org or in peson at the HPCLC office in Lincolnton at 900 Donita Drive until Friday, June 27. Cost of the memorial walk is $17 dollars until June 27. Daniels Lutheran Church on 3170 Reepsville Road in Lincolnton will be hosting a country breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. to benefit the church building fund. This event is open to the public and a $6 donation is suggested. The Young Womens group will also be holding a bake sale to benefit the Sunday school classrooms.
Living Word Ministries at 1062 South Highway 16 in Lowesville will host a concert at 6 p.m. Gospel singers “Called Out” from Gibsonville will perform. The event is free of charge but offerings will be collected.
The DABA presents Denver’s annual Fireworks Festival at East Lincoln High School at 6471 Hwy 73 in Denver with gates opening for free concerts at 4 p.m. Food and beverage vendors will be on site, as well musical guests Nashville recording artists Chris Janson, Bruce Hedrick and local performer Dylan Riddle. Admission is free and fireworks begin at dark. No coolers, please.
