Mary Irene Harless Hedgepeth
Mary Irene Harless Hedgepeth, age 96, of Lincolnton Rehabilitation, and formerly of Hillside Drive, died on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Gainsville Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Hedgepeth was born May 14, 1918, in Ashe County, to the late Albert M. and Elmer Blackburn Harless. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Silas Bates Smith, the father of her children, and later Frank Hedgepeth, daughter Roxie Faye Sain, brothers Reeves Harless and Donald Harless, and sisters Margaret McConnell, Myrtle Kiser, Mabel Mosteller, Pansy Boyles, and Dollie Elmore. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by two sons, James “Jim” Milton of Charlotte and Gordon “Mick” Smith of Asheboro; three daughters, Mavin Lail of Columbia, S.C., Sue Tutherow of Lincolnton, and Brenda Henderson of Statesville; one sister, Ruby Wyont of Bessemer City; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Velma Mae Mathis Ingle
Velma Mae Mathis Ingle, age 92, of Lincolnton, passed away, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 13, 1922 in Catawba County to the late Mattie Mathis.
She is survived by her husband, JD Ingle of the home; six daughters, Betty Helms of Lincolnton, Mary Ingle of the home, Shirley Barrett-Howell and her husband Eddie of Lincolnton, Candy Hood and her fiancé Brian Bradley of Gastonia, Sandy Bumgarner and her husband Charles of Maiden, and Brenda Sigmon of Stony Point; four sons, Jim Ingle, Jr Ingle and his wife Terry, David Ingle, and Calvin Ingle and his wife Vickie, all of Lincolnton; one brother, Ray Mathis and his wife Dot of Lincolnton, 19 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at E. F. Drum Funeral Home. The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at E. F. Drum Funeral Home. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Michael Collins will officiate.

Michael Anthony Maldonado
Michael Anthony Maldonado, age 51, of 6544 Fairview School Rd. in Vale passed away May 11, 2014.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Reepsville Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Klinesmith officiating.
Mr. Maldonado was born in Homestead, Fla. on October 29, 1962 to the late Antonio Maldonado and Betty Mangus of Lincolnton. He owned his own business, Michael’s Automotive Paint and Body, in Vale. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Maldonado.
Mr. Maldonado is survived by his fiancée, Chasta Buff and her son, Laxton Ruff of the home; two sons, Michael Maldonado and his wife Christina of Lincoln County and Chris Maldonado of Lincolnton; two daughters, Kayla Maldonado of Lincolnton and Marisol Maldonado of the home; a brother, Eddie Maldonado and wife Laura of Fla.; two sisters, Maggie Richard and husband Jeff of Vale and Wendy Lather of S.C.; three grandsons, Michael, Tony and Taylor Maldonado of Lincolnton; one granddaughter, Isabel Maldonado of Lincolnton; his mother, Betty Mangus of Lincolnton and an ex-wife, Tami Connor of Lincolnton.

Ardie Nevert Houser Reep
Ardie Nevert Houser Reep, age 87, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Messiah United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Reep was born October 11, 1926, in Lincoln County, to the late D.G. and Hattie Houser. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ervin Reep, a brother, Harold Houser, and a sister, Susan Armstrong. She was co-owner of Reeps Dairy.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Crotts and husband Norman of Boone, Erma Deen Hoyle of Lincolnton, and Laura Boozer and husband Mark of Colfax; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Price and fiancé Julie Roberts, Jeremy Price and wife Jessica, Stephanie Dorton and husband Chuck, Megan Blanke and husband Rob, Clayton Boozer, Patrick Boozer, and Brenna Boozer; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Price, Alex Dorton, and Landon Blanke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Allene Reep, Margaret Ingle, Jacob and Betsy Reep, Ann Reep, Dean and Ann Reep, Yates and Margaret Reep, and Faye and Dennis Shidal; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank Denny Harbinson, 85, of Conover died June 18, 2014.
The funeral service will be held on June 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Tri-City Baptist Church, Conover. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by American Legion Post 544.
