North Lincoln Black bests Post 30

Mitchell Keener went 3-for-4 with a triple and drove in two runs, Aaron Connor had two hits and two RBIs, and Keener and Reid McCrorie combined for the shutout as North Lincoln Black downed Lincolnton Post 30 11-0 Saturday in a Junior American Legion baseball game at Lincolnton High.
Keener gave up three hits across four strong innings and struck out two. McCrorie gave up one hit, walked one and struck out three in the final two frames.
Carson Roberts went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Chris Jorgensen doubled and drove in a run, and Daniel Thompson doubled and drove in a run.
Peyton Fisher, Adam Campbell, Curtis Fisher and Austin Dellinger each singled for Post 30. Frank Hatchett gave up eight runs, six earned, on eight hits, walked two and struck out two in 3 1/3 innings in the loss.
North Lincoln Black (6-4) hosts Post 30 (4-7) today at 5 p.m.

SENIOR LEGION BASEBALL

GASTON BRAVES 5, CHERRYVILLE 4: At Cherryville, Post 100 left 16 on base as the Braves picked up the non-division win.
Cody Dellinger (2-for-6), Dillon Harris (2-for-3), Jonathan Carpenter (2-for-5) and Dalton Towery (3-for-5) to lead Cherryville. Cameron High gave up five runs on seven hits, walked none and struck out six in the win.
Post 100 (11-4) hosts Randolph County in a non-division game at 7 p.m. today.
MINT HILL-LINCOLN COUNTY RAINED OUT: Friday’s Area IV Eastern Division game between Mint Hill and the Cardinals was rained out. No makeup date has been announced.
