Singles group

BBQ Benefit

Iron Station Country Store, 4718 E. Highway 27 in Iron Station, is hosting a BBQ Pork and BBQ Chicken Benefit on June 21st, starting at 11 a.m. Event proceeds will go to help pay for a cancer patient’s medical expenses. They will deliver if five or more plates are purchased and the residence is within 20 miles of the store. For more information, call (980) 241-3870.

Big yard sale

Maiden Church of God, 107 North 3rd Avenue in Maiden, will host a yard sale from 6 a.m.-1 p.m. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches will also be for sale. For more information, call (828) 428-8523.

Yard Sale

Lincolnton High School Classes of 1960-1970 are holding a Class Reunion Yard Sale at 405 N. Poplar St., beginning at 7 a.m. Items for sale include clothing, housewares, etc.

Church breakfast
Marvin UMC, Startown Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a breakfast buffet 7-10 a.m. A $6 donation is suggested for the parsonage fund. The United Methodist Women’s group will also host a bake sale to benefit a local family’s medical expenses.

VBS kickoff
Faith Baptist Church, 5794 Old Plank Rd. in Iron Station, will host a kickoff event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Vacation Bible School, set for 6:30-8:15 p.m. daily June 16-20 (dinner at 5:45 p.m.). For more information, call (704) 735-9820.

River Oaks Band

Bud Long’s River Oaks Band will perform 7 p.m. at 2910 Killian Rd. in Lincolnton. Children under 12 are not permitted. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Spay/neuter clinic

The Humane Society of Lincoln County will host its third and final registration for its upcoming low-cost spay/neuter clinic (June 24) 12-3 p.m. at 2422 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton. Cats are $30 and dogs are $55. There is no additional cost for large animals or females in heat. Payment in the form of cash or check is due at registration. Golf benefit
The Boys & Girls Club of Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center will host “Change the Course for Children” Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament with registration 11:30 a.m. and lunch at 12 p.m. A shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. The event will be at Glen Oaks Country Club in Maiden. Golf tournament cancelled

The Lincoln County NAACP Chapter has cancelled its golf tournament at Glen Oaks Country Club in Maiden. The event will be rescheduled at a later date.

Senior nutrition meeting
