Hall of Fame
The Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held at 6 p.m. at the James W. Warren Citizens Center on Saturday, June 21. Tickets are $25 and will be on sale until June 16. This year’s inductees are Sheila Barker, John Colvard, Mike Harrill, Mark Lackey, Bobby Martin and Wayne Navey. Softball: East Lincoln will host a softball camp from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 16-19. The camp is $65, and will be divided into four age groups: 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-up. Catchers must have their own gear. Registration forms are available at the school’s main office, or at Triple Crown BSG, 7855 Plaza Drive, Denver.
Basketball: Lincoln Charter School will hold a basketball camp from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 16-19 for rising kindergartners through rising ninth graders and costs $90 per camper (includes T-shirt). There will be two divisions –– a K-5 division and a 6-9 division. For more information contact coach Bradley Gabriel at brad.gabriel@lincolncharter.org.
Track and field: The North Lincoln High track club will host a seven-day youth track and field clinic at the school from 6-7 p.m. on June 16, 18, 20, 23, 27, 30 and July 2 for boys and girls ages 5-12. There will be two meets held, the first on June 25 and the last on July 3, both at 6 p.m. The cost of the camp for each child is $10. Summer programs
The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation is currently taking registration for the following summer programs: wrestling, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, baseball and swim team camps, tennis clinics and swimming lessons. Registration is being accepted 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Lentz Recreation Center. For more information contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.
