East Lincoln and West Lincoln split their Western Piedmont Instructional League doubleheader on Saturday.
Charles Mack George went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Matt Bumgarner went 2-for-3 and drove in a run to lead the Rebels to an 8-5 win in Game 1.
Dallas Bridges (hit, RBI), Kenny Stevens (hit, RBI), Ashton Rana (hit, RBI), Coltyn Miller (hit, RBI) and Parker Chapman (hit, RBI) helped West Lincoln’s cause. Leading the Mustangs were Brendan Gallagher (2-for-2, two RBIs) and Dawson Pia (double, two RBIs). Caleb Adams gave up four runs on four hits, walked four and struck out three in 3 2/3 innings in the win.
In Game 2, Pia and Evan Polowski drove in runs in the first inning as East Lincoln held on for the 2-1 win. Gallagher went 2-for-3 with a double and Austin Buchanan went 2-for-2. Riddle (first name not reported) held the Rebels to four hits –– Bumgarner, Stevens (double), George and Mitchell Higdon, who added the RBI. Bridges gave up two runs, none earned, on seven hits, walked two and struck out three in the loss.
EAST BURKE 5, WEST LINCOLN 1; EAST BURKE 6, WEST LINCOLN 4: At East Burke, the Rebels were swept in a WPIL doubleheader on Friday.
In Game 1, Parker Chapman and Dylan Frady had two hits each, Jake Bradley doubled and Kenny Stevens went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Stevens gave up five runs on four hits, walked six and struck out two in 3 1/3 innings in the loss.
In Game 2, Dallas Bridges and Mitchell Higdon went 2-for-2 (RBI), and Capone Kelges went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Charles Mack George gave up four runs, one earned, on seven hits, walked one and struck out five in three innings in the loss.

LINCOLNTON 13, RUTHERFORD A 2: At Rutherford Post 423, Lincolnton Post 30 picked up a league win on Saturday.
Daniel McBride went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, Adam Campbell went 2-for-4 with a double, Austin Dellinger went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Langdon Givens went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Post 30. Campbell gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits, walked one and struck out six in the complete-game win.
RUTHERFORD B 9, LINCOLNTON 8: At Rutherford Post 423, Lincolnton Post 30 fell to its B Junior Legion team in a second game on Saturday.
Austin Dellinger went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Jordon Easter went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Lane Hoover had a triple, an RBI and scored three runs, Peyton Fisher doubles and drove in a run, and Daniel McBride went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Frank Hatchett was charged with an unearned run on three hits, walked none and struck out six in 3 1/3 innings in the loss.
NORTH LINCOLN BLACK 6, GASTONIA 1: At Gastonia, North Lincoln Black picked up a league win.
Mitchell Keener went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, Gabe Ellis added a hit and an RBI and Daniel Thompson added a double and an RBI. Ellis gave up one run on four hits, walked one and struck out four in the win.
NORTH LINCOLN BLACK 7, DALLAS 6: At Dallas, North Lincoln Black picked up a close win on Friday.
Carson Roberts (2-for-3, RBI), Aaron Connor (2-for-3, double, two RBIs) and Mitchell Keener (2-for-3, two RBIs) led North Lincoln. Keener gave up six runs, four earned, on nine hits, walked none and struck out three in four innings for the win.

CHERRYVILLE 12, HENDERSON COUNTY 2, 7 INN.: At Cherryville, Post 100 won its fifth in a row in an Area IV Western Division game on Sunday.
Brandon Alexander (3-for-5, double, two RBIs), Chandler Jenkins (2-for-3, two-run home run, three RBIs), Dillon Harris (2-for-2, double) and Dalton Towery (2-for-3, two RBIs) led Cherryville. Randall Long had the walk-off, two-out, RBI double in the seventh. Cameron High gave up two runs on five hits, walked one and stuck out six for the win. Alexander gave up a hit and had a strikeout in a scoreless seventh.
CHERRYVILLE 19, BURKE COUNTY 0, 7 INN.: At Cherryville, Post 100 scored 13 runs in the first inning en route to the division win.
Brett Huff (two hits, solo home run), Jonathan Carpenter (three hits, home run, three RBIs), Chandler Jenkins (three hits, RBI), Dylan Harris (hit, three RBIs), Josh Beam (three hits, home run, three RBIs) and Caleb Narron (two hits) led Cherryville. Randall Long picked up the win while he, Alex Murray, Beam and Dalton Towery combined for the shutout.
LINCOLN COUNTY 12, CAROLINA HEAT 2: At Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Cardinals picked up an Area IV Eastern Division win on Saturday.
Justin Norton went 4-for-6, and Bradley Hallman, Nathaniel Scoggins, Alex Pickeral, Brady Drennen and J.T. Bowden had two hits each as Post 455 had 18 hits on the night. Nick Savoie gave up three hits in the win.
