TODAY
“Praise Fest”

Musical group, We R Forgiven, will host the two-day event, “Praise Fest,” 4-8 p.m. at Frontline Worship Center, 324 N. Main St. in Stanley, with the following entertainment groups: Blood Bought, The Promise, The Pathfinders and Jordan’s Crossroads. There will also be a BBQ sale.

Hog Happenin’
The Downtown Development Association and City of Lincolnton will sponsor the Hog Happenin’ event 6-10 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton. For more information, visit hoghappenin.org. Half of event proceeds will benefit Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA).

Kids camp
Registration is now available for Gaston and Lincoln County 6th-8th graders to attend “Camp Discover” 8:30-11:45 a.m. daily June 16-19 at the Gaston College-Dallas campus in Gastonia. Students will learn about radio and television broadcasting, technology careers, nursing, yoga, health and fitness, cosmetology, fire training, law enforcement, emergency medical services and more. SATURDAY
Church consignment sale

St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church, N.C. 27 W. in Lincolnton, will host a consignment sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with children’s, women’s and men’s clothing items along with Vera Bradley purses, evening gowns, baby items and more.

Church benefit auction
Long Shoals Wesleyan Church, 3032 Wesleyan Ch. Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a benefit auction starting 10 a.m. with household items, jewelry, furniture, antiques, electronics, sports equipment, clothing and more. A preview will start at 9 a.m. Refreshments and concessions will be available. Proceeds will benefit the church youth group’s July mission camp. Hog Happenin’
The Downtown Development Association and City of Lincolnton will sponsor the second day of Hog Happenin’ with registration 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the intersection of E. Main St. and Poplar St. in downtown Lincolnton. Half of event proceeds will benefit Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). Additional activities will include musical entertainment, a burn-out contest, cornhole tournament, eating and karaoke contests, and more. ‘50s Night event

Church concert

Church fundraiser
The women of laboratory UMC, 1850 Bill Lynch Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a fundraiser for missions 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hot dogs, homemade cakes and desserts, and a silent auction of gift baskets will be on-hand.

Reep reunion

Fashion star meet-and-greet
The Lincoln Cultural Center in Lincolnton will host Lincolnton native and New York fashion icon, Charles Harbison, for a public meet-and-greet 4-8 p.m. He will be showing pieces from his fall 2014 collection and discussing his new online fundraising initiative. Blood drive

Preservation class
The N.C. Cooperative Extension will host a class on freezing foods and canning tomatoes 5:30 p.m. in the first floor demonstration kitchen inside the Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton. Cheer/football tryouts
West Lincoln Optimist Club will host cheerleading and football signups for fall 2014 6-7 p.m. at West Lincoln Optimist Park, 5959 N.C. 27 in Vale. Cost is $80 for football and $50 for cheerleading (uniform $150). Final payment is due July 15. Additional tryouts will be 6-7 p.m. June 12.

TUESDAY
NARFE meeting

Iron Station seniors
