County fee against city for 911, animal control makes sense
The double taxation increase that Tom Hawk wrote about may need some clarification. Sure, it is a mutual agreement between the city and the county, but I don’t believe there is any state law that relates to this matter. It is better for the city and county to cooperate and mutally agree than go separate ways. The county feels it has to build the facilities (more and more), and the city benefits from this, and it does because it doesn’t have to worry about the facilities and the cost involved. Therefore, the mutually agreed fee is a win-win situation for both parties.
