Isabelle Wood Brown
Mrs. Isabelle Wood Brown, age 93, of West Highway 27 Lincolnton passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Cardinal Care.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brown was born on July 4, 1920 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Daniel Clyde Wood and Ruth Styers Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Winslow Theodore Brown, in 2007 as well as a son, Larry Ronald Brown at the age of six, and brothers, Jim Wood and Dean Wood, and sisters, Nell Johnson and Christine Helms. Isabelle was a wonderful cook and was known for her chocolate pies. She retired from Crowell Hospital as a dietician. She was a long time and active member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith and husband, Don of Vale; grandchildren, Myra Stallings and husband, Seth, Chad Smith and wife, Becky; great grandchildren, Josh Stallings, Dylan, Callie and Camille Smith.

Betty Josephine Horne Earle
IRON STATION — Mrs. Betty Josephine Horne Earle, age 78, of 1576 Forum Lane in Iron Station, died on Saturday, May 24, 2014.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Pearl Baptist Church with Rev. G.W. Horne and the Rev. Dr. Tim Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Iron Station Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Earle was born July 2, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, to the late John Bunion and Fannie C. Long Horne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, David Earle and Jack Earle, two grandchildren, David Earle, Colin Earle and five brothers, John Horne, Leonard Horne, Jimmy Horne, Benny Horne and James Harold Horne. Mrs. Earle had worked in the textile industry, retail and home health care.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Elmer S. Earle; two sons, Stewart Earle and Robin Earle of Iron Station; one daughter, Sharon E. Stroupe of Iron Station; one brother, G.W. “Dub” Horne of Alexis; three sisters, Gaye Arrowwood of Mt. Holly, Janice Johnson of Crouse and Brenda Osborne of IL; three grandchildren, Shelly Gales, of Gaffney, SC, Bradley Earle of Iron Station and Megan Long of Denver; four great grandchildren, Jackson Daniel Long and Audrey Elise Long of Denver, Hayden Earle of Iron Station and Payton Styles of Lincolnton.

Katie Ruth Waddell Chambers Earley
Mrs. Katie Ruth Waddell Chambers Earley, age 88, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton and formerly of Dallas, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at High Shoals Church of God with Rev. Billy Dunnigan officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. today at Warlick Funeral Home. At all other times the family will be at her home located at 1521 Miles Road in Dallas.
Mrs. Earley was born March 28, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Perry and Lelia Foster Waddell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earley, her first husband, Paul Ervin Chambers; four sisters, Lucille Maynor and Charlene Scissom, Noralee Simms and Sybil Burkhalter; two brothers, Paul Waddell and Alvin Waddell. Mrs. Earley was retired from textiles.
Survivors include three sons, Rod Chambers of Dallas, Jeff Chambers and Tim Chambers of Lincolnton; one daughter, Claudia Lunceford of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Arthur Gregory Hair
Mr. Arthur Gregory Hair age 62, of 787 Startown Road in Lincolnton died Friday, May 23, 2014.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. today at Warlick Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. A private inurnment will be held later at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hair was born December 19, 1951 in Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gregory Hair and JoAnn LaBenske Hair. Arthur served in both the US Air Force and US Navy. He was employed by Ingles Markets.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte “Ann” Hair of the home, daughter, Stephanie Mood and husband Frank of Columbia, S.C.; son, Donald Gregory “DG” Hair and wife Beth of Lexington; sister, Diana H, Harper and husband Jim of Norman Okla.; grandchildren, Palmer Mood, Charlotte Mood, Daniel Hair, and Jacob Hair; nieces and nephews, Jason Johnson, Jamie Moriarity, Jeff Davis and Marcie Finnigan.

Floyd Steven “Steve” Houser
VALE — Mr. Floyd Steven “Steve” Houser, age 66, of 1321 Cedar Grove Church Road in Vale, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
His funeral service will be 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Andrews and Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Houser was born April 6, 1948 in Lincoln County to the late Floyd Odell and Inez Wilson Houser. Mr. Houser was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam. He was a commercial building construction supervisor.
Survivors include two sisters, Linda H. Parker of Vale, Judy H. Helms and husband Dean of Vale; nieces and nephews, Karen Parker Sharpe and husband Greg, Billy Helms, Deanna Helms Hardy and husband Shane, Pamela Helms Martin and husband James and great nephew, Garrett Hardy.

Sherry Lynn Gillman Kittle, age 53, of 2436 Kershaw Trail in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Ms. Kittle was born July 2, 1960, in Victoria, Tex. to the late Raymond Gillman and Barbara Wiskeman Gillman Whitcomb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kittle and a brother, Ray Gillman.
She is survived by two sons, Jeremiah Kittle and wife Christina of Hickory and Jason Kittle of Lincolnton; one brother, William Gillman of Lincolnton; one sister, Christine Whitcomb Spearman of Greensville, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Olivia Kittle and Morgan Kittle.
